It worked!! Monarch egg removal

Last Tuesday, while I was sitting looking out my patio doors, a momma monarch visited the milkweed I have. Most of the milkweed are volunteers from one swamp milkweed. She must have been desparate because she visited all the plants and laid 20 plus eggs on about five plants. Mind you these plants were only 6 or so inches high. This is really early for us and she probably got blown up here by some of the storms we have been having. Anyhow (is it possible for me to write a short post?), some of the eggs were attached to the stems and I had to remove them. If I had cut the stems it would have done major damage at this point.

It has been raining almost everyday and the weather is now in the 40's and 50's. They would have been ant food for sure. So, I carefully removed them with my fingernail. They have all hatched and are doing well. I am so happy, phew..
