Pineapple Brown Leaves and not growing new leaves

Hello, I am growing pineapple and it appears it is not growing any new leaves and getting brown spots on the leaves. Also the leaves seem like they are like curved inwards now. The plant doesn't appear to be dying either. Wondering if anyone can help.

How offer do you water? Pineapples can take lots of water and sun.

I water about once a week depending oh how much sun I get here. I make sure the soil is not too damp. I'm not sure why the leaves are curling and turning brown. Not sure if it is lack of sun or water or too cold.

Any help would be great.

Tbaleno: Hydroponic growing is a very specialized technique for growing plants of any kind. Not many people on this list do it. You might try a list that has more expertise in this area. My guess is that watermelon roots do not like to be immersed in water, but that is the essence of hydroponic culture, so I don't know what the answer would be. It seems to me you have already given it a try, and it's not working. For the reason why, you might have to consult a hydroponic scientist, not us poor gardeners who have enough trouble trying to grow watermelons in the ground. Don Yellman, Great Falls, VA

It's in full sun and being watered daily just like it has for the last two summers outside. over watering could be the prob as it's in the "moisture lock" soil. *pic shows a brown leaf and a brown & folded leaf

Hlily, Browning of leaf tips especially when it starts at the older, mature leaves almost always means fertilizer burn. If you fertilized your plant, it means you have likely overfertilized it. If this is the case, you need to repot your jasmine in a new fertilizer-free soil. (If you don't do this, the browning of leaf tips will continue to spread until your plant dies or if you are lucky, until after the high fertilizer level in the soil subsides and becomes 'manageable' to the plant.) If you didn't fertilize the plant at all, the nursery from where you bought it might have done so. You can also check on soil moisture. Browning of leaf tips is also a sign of dehydration brought about by insufficient watering or too much sun exposure. (The browning in this case however, is not limited to the leaf tips only.) tropical

I'm not an expert, and the time outside might contradict this, but the description of the leaves initially made me think sunburn. I'm a couple hours north of you (Vancouver) and probably wouldn't have put things outside until middle or end of April. Not sure where that goes in your timeline. Hopefully (crosses fingers) the increasingly warm weather of the next month will perk things up. I've seen garlic and potatoes growing outside over the past couple months but I just moved mine from inside to greenhouse at the beginning of May. I'd guess that they will grow once the weather warms up. But hopefully someone else will chime in with more professional advice about anything that you might be able to do to encourage them.

The soil temperature is the key to a robust plant. They don't like soil temps below 75F. They will go dormant and rot easily.

they love a lot of water and sun and they will like to stand in water but occationally water from top and soil then replace water in a saucer

I had the same problem on my indoor pineapple plants a few years ago. It's a leaf fungus called Anthracnose. I used 70% neem oil to control it. Also, do not mist the leaves! It will spread the fungus.

I don't use neem oil on any of my broms it will burn plants in the sun with high summer temps.
