Having a fun gardening year

We're having a fun year with the plants. There are several sophomores that are doing well: the three Eupatorium from last year have become fifteen Euapatorium this year. The ten Rudbeckia from last year are the hundred Rudbeckia of this year (down, boy!). The Monarda and Daisies are robust. The New Jersey Tea is slower-growing but healthy.

I also have some promising freshmen: Mountain mint (Pycnanthanum virginianum), Little Bluestem, and Pussytoes are all doing well, and there are some snapdragons from seed.

My daughter read a book that featured hollyhocks, and she wanted some, so we now have some hollyhocks on the fence-row.

AND, we have a volunteer spicebush with a single caterpillar on it.

It definitely offsets the loss of the hops vine.
