I started some banana seeds I ordered from value seeds (had to try them)...That's all so far for seeds.

I did put my donkey tail spurge in a hanging pot though..I took it out of the ground since it's been "sprawling" over like crazy..Looks kinda cool hanging :)

Also repotted some cactus...That was fun :( but it needed to be done.

I'll start seeds within the next month here...My daffs and tulips are poking through too...Nice to see some "spring" :)

Kylie I am trying to grow out ALL the variety seeds I got from everyone. But a special seed that sprouted and I am amazed that it did is a Starfruit tree. 3 of them made it. My neighbor gave me a starfruit in the fall and I saved the seeds. REad you are suppose to plant them fresh. But I just found them end of Dec. So even thou it takes 4 - 5 years until they would get fruit, I am excited that it sprouted and I can grow one.

The only think I have planted besides brugs is a few bananna seeds. They have been in since Dec. and still no signs of sprouting. How long do they usually take? I have some more that I saved just in case. Probably will start some dats in a few weeks and I won't be starting anything else (like a few veggies and maybe some MGs and Moonvines) until about mid april.

Not too much yet. Sown seeds for Theobroma Cacao, adeniums, brugs, Bhut Jolokia peppers (wish I hadn't sown all 10 seeds at once; three have sprouted), and datura. Had opium poppies and impatiens balsamina that sprouted but they died -- think I'll sow in the ground instead. Still have tomatoes, cucumbers and lots of other seeds, but will do later.

I have started about 12 brug crosses, plumeria, and then I started on perennials. Lots of hibiscus, morning glory, lily of the nile, hostas, and vines.
I probably have about 50 soaking that need to be planted, but it is too cold outside to work. I wonder if I could bring my seed mix inside?..... Hubby would kill me! LOL

Holy catz! You all have been really busy. I've sown a lot of perennial seeds and once I get them all moved off my heating mats, I will begin my annuals.

I finally purchased some Plumeria seeds woo hooo. So far, I don't have any brug seeds but will do some hybridizing and will hopefully be able to plant some next year.

Some of you have some very interesting plants growing. It will be fun to see pictures of our gardens this summer.

Everyboday has been so busy :) too much stuff to list. I have 120 containers in the yard wintersowed and tons of seed going in the gh. Karyn;s Rhaubana (sp) came up. I am so frickin excited....My water lotus wont sprout though. It is swollen and has not done anything...

I've also been doing alot of winter sowing. Started a few lilies under lights, keeping my fingers crossed. Tues. it was -4 and today should be 55. Springs a coming. Carol

Today the seed mix is coming in whether he likes it or not. I have seeds germinating in the water they were soaking in! I have more to start! It is too cold here now! It's going to be 16 tonight! It hasn't been that cold in years. I hope it doesn't freeze the buds on my azaleas and camellias.......

You guys are making me tired! You sure do a lot of work. I'm a mess with just a few seeds on the kitchen counter, worrying about what they are doing and checking them every 15 minutes. I don't want to have to tell somebody here, that I killed their seeds. Oh, the pressure! Laura is getting sick of me, showing her the progress of the tiny Brug sprouts, from Karyn's seeds. Historically, I don't do seeds. I just go to Lowes or HD and get stuff to fill in the blank spots in the gardens. I might actually visit a nursery, if I get a wild-hair about something I can't find at those stores.

I was inspired by the book "Designing with Succulents" whose author skips my mind at the moment. There are some really good pictures and suggestions. I read through the whole thing and went out to buy some succulents! lol. Yeah, i know what you mean about rain. Before adding the soil, i lost a couple of cacti because of too much rain (and that's too much rain in California!) If you make a well draining bed with lots of sand, like i did, you should increase the chances of growing succulents. There are several that can actually tolerate summer rainfall.

Oh, and when you get the cacao pod, try to plant the seeds fast! We have wild cacao trees in our property in El Salvador, and when the fruits ripen, the seeds are already germinated within. You might find that this is true with the pod you are going to recieve.
