Beautiful, Lizalily! Lovely shade of pink! Another pretty one for my wish list... which is beginning to require its own book, never mind just a page in one!

I agree. I just spent time checking on the web and you know, I doubted it from the first glimps I saw of Salmon colored interior! Oh well, it is a lovely flower, but I do resent so many being misnamed! Are McClure and Zimmerman particularly bad about that or does it happen through out the industry.\? I was so pleased with my huge plump bulbs from them...still am, as they are my first blooming flowers, but I would not want to get these under another label again.

MY Lilac Wonder is opening Cherry red, but when I photograph it it turns lilac! Is that how they are named, LOL?

I have made a calculation, and a huge percentage of my bulbs from MZ turned out not true to name, or other varieties. The bulbs are AMAZING. I love them, but unfortunately, I care for their variety, so I complained to much for them... And they are not communicating with me about this mislabeled Angelique now. Why don't they sell it for what it is: Faro. Case closed. There would be no complaints. My Lilac Wonder actually opened Lilac for me, so there must be a mix up. Do you still have the photo of it so show for us. I will tell you if you have Lilac Wonder. At least, that one turned out to be Lilac Wonder for me. And I had another one from someone else from a year before, and they were blooming right next to each other, so I am confident I have the right Lilac Wonder. So please post a pic.

This is a hard one to catch the color on. The camera picks up more lilac then my eye sees in it. It is a pretty thing though and I Am enjoying it...actually all the 2 flowers so far are beautiful and cheerful. Next to open will be another lilac wonder and then a Pink Surprise. It will surprise me because i have no memory of the pic when I ordered it...that might be from Van Engelen. I will have to check my orders.

Now, that Lilac Wonder is not Lilac Wonder. Lilac Wonder does not have a pink diamond in the throat. Lilac Wonder is almost like Hercules. It might have a small, insignificant stripe in the throat, but definitely not white star. Is it possible that you have Pink Diamond? You can look up the pictures of Pink Diamond that Cindee posted.

Oh Dear! Will any of my Amaryllis be true to name this year? MAYBE I SHOULD just say, OK, here is my money, now send me this many bulbs, 3 of a kind! (But then they price them by 2 's, not 3's! WHat incredibly bad business even if the bulbs are healthy and I have beautiful flowers! What if I had planned these for a wedding and they came out salmon instead of pink, and cherry instead of lilac?!!!When I order flowers for a wedding and get them in bloom and they are the wrong color, we can run out and get others and refuse to pay for the bad ones...been there, done that! IF I had raise the flowers weeks in advance, I can not run out and find most of these for sale anyhow, let along how much more they would cost!

HOw fortunate that this year we make up bouquets of what ever we have and deliver them to businesses and they will oooh and aaaah over anything different then those red and white ones in the supermarket!

Liza, when it is completely opened, please make another picture. The throat is too white for Lilac Wonder for sure. But at least, you might have a Pink Diamond... It took three years for me to get one and I could only get one by Cindee buying one for me and send over the continent.

I have spend hours searching the internet for a match for this one! It is not Lilac Wonder. I do not see anything else with the rounded petals and the star that only reaches half way out onto the petals. It also has a very intense green throat. I would still call the coler "Cherry" as opposed to pink or lilac. It is just too pink to be red and too red to be pink! The stem is about 15 inches..the next one which is opening is probably twelve so that seems to be its height range. The flower is about 6 or 7" across on Day 2.
