To find your old posts, you can use the Search function. You'll find it towards the bottom of the index page of each GW sub-forum. You have the option of searching that sub-forum or the entire site (but to search a single other sub-forum, you'll have to go to that sub-forum and do your search there. Enter your user-name. (You can add other words, but I'm never certain if it's an AND search or an OR search -- maybe it used to be OR but now it's AND?) It will bring up threads you've started, threads you've posted on, and also threads where your user-name is merely mentioned by someone else. I don't know if the search finds everything or not. I don't know the extent to which very old posts will show up in a search. If this doesn't work for you, you can go to Google and use their Advanced Search. The last I knew, Advanced Search could only be accessed by first making a regular search; at the bottom of the page of results the "Advanced Search" option will appear. Click on the link to go to Advanced Search. In Advanced Search, there are many options for entering terms, and you can also limit searches to a particular site or a section of that site. Before you enter a GW url in Google Advanced Search, be aware that not all GW sub-forums begin with the same address. Some are forums.gardenweb.com and others are forums2.gardenweb.com. It's possible to use more of the url so that your search is limited to a particular GW forum: for example, forums.gardenweb.com/forums/cacti -- or should it be forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/cacti? I haven't tried to figure that out. I don't know if Google Advanced Search will find every post you've made in that sub-forum or not. I've had successful searches that seemed to bring up everything I thought it should, as well as other searches that gave me very strange results. Happy searching!

I disagree. I grew it in a hanging basket I recycled from some annuals the previous year. Mine was just a small rooted cutting, and within a year it went from 5 inches to 3ft in one season! I did keep it indoors in a full sun location over fall and winter, and by that next summer it was a little over 5ft..but not all the vines were huge at this point. Thinking back on it, I think a lot of the vines we're over 5ft long, and the other 3 we're around 2-3ft, long but all the vines bloomed that 282nd summer! I only had maybe a dozen or so flowers but Robert the show they provided was amazing! The flower buds would start opening once the sun was setting, and would be totally open within an hour or so. The scent is incredible, but the size of the flowers to me is the show stopper! A flower the size of a dinner plate! Robert, you can't go wrong with this Epi and you can prune it to keep it somewhat in bounds! I specifically remember mine growing this super long skinny green shoot that looked like a pencil. It grew to 5ft tall in a few months...in fact, it hit the dining room ceiling before the new vines actually filled in and looked like a leaf. I sincerely hope that you can keep it Robert because once you see yours bloom, you won't be sorry!

"inspection by the Code Enforcement Officer during the intermediate (open-box) inspection you would have if you had pulled a license." -- never heard of an intermediate inspection -- there is a rough-in inspection that was done 7 years ago... then the permit expired. -- under normal circumstances, there would not be another inspection until the "final". The inspector does not stand over the electrician's shoulder while installing the oven.... but, if you want to pay the inspector $200 for an extra trip, and the electrician for an entire day's wages while he waits for the inspector to show up,... I suspect you will run out of money again real soon. The "short" flexible conduit is common. It is why I insist that the cabinet installer (generally hired by the KD/cabinet/appliance provider) install the oven before I hook it up. The problem is that a 23.25" deep oven stuck into a 24" deep cabinet with a 3/4" back panel does not fit with a 7/8" conduit running down the back. The conduit must go over and around, making it short, unless the cabinet installer cuts out the back of the cabinet to make it fit. The Gorilla tape was an attempt to do you a favor and repair the integrity of the moisture/air barrier of the outside wall... instead of leaving while you called back the cabinet installer, insulators, drywallers, and tapers to make something look "presentable" that will never be seen again,... and then come back for another trip to finish with another bill. The tape has nothing to do with the integrity of the electrical work itself, and I bet the insulators would just tape it up too. This is why you hire a GC, so that everything gets done in the correct order. "Is my only issue now that I may have to change that wire from a 10 to an 8 gauge?" - No, if you are going to second guess the electrician, you need to; know the temperature rating of the wire, the type of wire such as THHN, the temperature rating of the terminals that the wire is connected to, how many, and what size wires are in the conduit so that you can de-rate their ampacity, the cross-sectional area of the conductors and conduit, the length of the wire to check for impedance, the number and size of wires entering the junction box so that you can determine the minimum junction box volume, how far from the junction box the cable or conduit is secured, whether there is proper wire bending space,... and any quirks the inspector may have after being called out for a normally unnecessary extra inspection that he will be determined to find something to make the trip worthwhile.... just to name a few.

Of course the breaker should not be used as the long-term method to turn the range on and off. The OP's question is whether doing that temporarily until the range is repaired or replaced will hurt the breaker. No, it won't. Under the circumstances of the problem with the appliance, I would *always* turn the breaker off when the range is not in use. And *NEVER* leave the range unattended when it is in use.
