OT: back from visiting grandson

Hi all, here's your chance to ooo and ahhh. I spent a week with my daughter and son-in-law, making the acquaintance of my new grandson. Here he is with grammy and a huge baby yawn!

He is a big baby and looks quite comfy there with you.

How did you like Plano? I work in Plano 4 days a week, lots of traffic.

Chocolate Brug, I wanted to meet you. I did mapquest and you were just too far. I did think about you, how lucky you are to live there. The humity was so high, I finally just put my hair up in a ponytail. I really did have a nice time, the people were very friendly. I can't wait to go back, next time we are going to drive down. Just think of all the plants I can get in the big truck. I went to home depot to buy some glue for my husbands shoe, walked thru the nursery and found the purple siam tulip. They just put them out. I cannot tell you how many people stopped me in the store, and asked about the plant. I bet they were sold out by noon. I think its one of the prettiest blooms I have seen. The pink ones have bigger blooms, but the purple ones are fuller. I just bought purple. I bought 3 and condensed them down to a 1 gallon ziplock, so I could carry them on board. Everything looks great, I will loose some of the RP seedlings, but I think I will have at least 8 that will make it. Those trees were in full bloom while we were down there. Even my husband fell in love with the Royal Poinciana tree. We were told they would do great in Corpus Christi, and we are just 35 miles from CC. My huband shook a trees, to get a seed pod, that is how much he liked it. They told us they are fast growers, but not to put them out until they were at least 3 ft tall. Barbra,

The beaches south of Grays Harbor were packed with people this afternoon - clam digging opening. Hopefully the shops, restaurants, hotels were getting a boost from the crowd, but me? Didn't stay and spend any money, I got wet for the first time in many years (sneaker wave), filled my hip boots, and came home soggy and sandy. And hungry, I'd planned on Mexican dinner in Westport. Buyorsell, that was a good point though. DH often works two days, stays one night a week in Seaside and since December 3, many times he and our tech have had the only two rooms occupied at the hotel. I don't know how these people are making it.... Sinfonian, contractors are still working under a 'take a number, get into line' policy since the storm, with those who have more urgent needs being priority. I did get glass back into my porch this week, and the masonry company is telling me possibly as soon as next week to replace my now missing chimney. The roofer will follow him - but my house has been sound and secure where many others weren't so fortunate.

Thank you everyone! They came home from the hospital today and we went to see them again. We have been staying with DD in Columbus and driving to Dayton to see DS and family. It's closer than going all the way home. I wish my kids lived closer to us. They want us to move closer to them but I'm not ready for that yet. Linda

He does look big, doesn't he? But he was only 7# 2oz. when we went to the doc that week. I think he just has a very round head (like his daddy). Plano's fine, easy to get around in. I've lived on and off in the Dallas area over the years so I know my way. Did alot of grocery shopping and cooking to feed the mommy and daddy. And you're right, I am WAY too young to be a grammy (but Kohls gives me a senior discount as of the last birthday so I guess I'm not). Sigh.

Diane, what a beautiful grandson! He does look big, or else you are petite :-) I keep forgetting to ask for the senior discounts, LOL!

DH keeps getting bent out of shape because he's been getting mass mailings from AARP and to top it off a woman at the grocery store asked if Kyle was his grandson! LOL

Eloise, you can save a few bucks here and there! Get that discount! My husband and I went to the movies last night for the first time since his most recent birthday and he saved $3 on the 3D Avatar. He was adamant about not asking for the s.s. discount, but I think that helped! LOL!

Grammy looks Very Happy there!! Diane he is Beautiful. Is that a jealous pooh I see giving ya'll a look?? I am so glad you got to spend time.. I wish our weather would have been a bit better for you! Congrats!!
