Some info about Japanese anemone

Wanted to share some info I experienced often enough until I figured it out. I know many people love those late fall blooming beauties, collect seeds, try to winter sow. Have heard that results are not always promising.

It is not too late to go in your garden and see if you can find those fluffy heads of anemones. The only viable seeds will be tiny fat rods stuffed into white fluff. Carefully investigate if your seeds had ability to ripen enough- that white fluff has to have FAT rods/ dots/ as opposed to tiny ones which are infertile. Once you decide that amount of seeds is sufficient to try, you may winter sow them almost at any time as long as they have 2-4 weeks of cold. They might germinate at warm.

GA-3/ read more at J L Hudson, seedsman/ speeds up germination at warm.
