Aloe aristata problem

I have 2 photos of my aloe arista. It has been grown outside through a very hot summer, then a hugely wet fall and then two very hard freezes cycles of 24, and 12. It has had a rough 6 months but It is alive and growing . After the wet fall, it lost some leaves, all of a sudden just dropped off, and then it started to re-grow those leaves . I have never seen an aloe do this. Is this the dreaded aloe Gall? or is this the aloe healing itself. It is not growing additional leaves , just the leaves that it dropped. Sailed through (covered with a pot and grass in both freezes). The leaf that dropped off is still hanging around even after the two freezes. I just bought 3 more of the aristata and I was wondering if I should plant the new ones by this plant. I won't if it is the dreaded Gall. I will rid myself of the aloe and plant the others elsewhere. I was wondering if what people think of this.
