What co do you use for your photo inserts?

Picasa is all goofed up; I cannot locate my 4 years of on line albums.

Need to find an online photo service that is easy to use to embed photos in our messages.

Can anyone suggest one that will work with gardenweb messages?

Just tried Photobucket. This was copied from a free Photobucket account and it's working OK. Now to see if I can learn how to create albums, etc.

I googled trying to find on line services and this Photobucket and another called Flickr came up.

The photo below is the FIRST butterfly I've spotted in my garden this year. By the time I'd run in and grabbed a camera and gotten back down to the garden, he'd had enough basking in the warm sunshine and off he flew before I could get close. I just cropped this and it's not very good. Can anyone tell what it is? I'm not too familiar with the underwing markings. Might it be a black swallowtail? His little feathers are sticking up off of his head. :-)

Well, I think I've answered my own question about this little guy. I just checked and my black swallowtail has eclosed and I'll bet the little guy I saw earlier is my fall baby who overwintered on a stick outside on the deck.

I'm off to look up a photo of the underwings of the black swallowtail.

I have the Zephyr Monsoon II with the LED lights on it. It has 6 speeds, though speed #6 is called "Burst" mode and will only run on that high speed for about 5 minutes before going back to speed 5. We mostly use it on speed-3, it is fairly quiet on that speed, but honestly this is my first hood. We used to have a OTA microwave with the hood built it, so that is all I have to compare it too. So far with it over our 36" BS rangetop with 6 burners we love it and it does all I need. I have only had to use speed-6 one time when I was using a griddle and forgot I had it on to high and it started to smoke. In the past we would set off the smoke alarm in our kitchen area with the OTA micro-wave one, we have yet to do that with this hood, as expected. Phil

I upload my from the camera to the hard drive, save them in my pictures by date, as in 03-27-08. By using the 0 in front of a single digit month, it keeps it in the correct order, datewise. If you just type in 3-17-08, when you get to October, which reads 10-17-08, it will put October first in the order saved. I delete the really bad ones, or ones I know I don't want even if they aren't good. I about killed DH one day. He decided to go thru and delete some of the bad pics we had from something, after I had saved what I wanted. Before I had them backed up, as in the next day! I had purposely kept some of the blurry ones, as they were the only ones I had of that particular shot. And I had a use for them. He deleted them. He won't do it again!!!!! I keep them backed up, but unless it's a huge video file, like our trip to Vermont 2 weeks ago when he took video with the camera, I'll leave them on the computer for the whole year, then do another back up of them on a DVD and then I will go thru and delete the ones I don't want to store on the hard drive to show someone when we travel. The video DH took on our trip I will save to DVD and delete, because it takes up so much space. I print all I want printed at home. I have a photo quality printer, and only use the ink for that printer, no refills for priniting pics!!! I don't want to spend that kind of money, even at Walmart to have them all printed, and no where to store them if I did. If there is something I want to give mom & dad, I print my own. I can see all the rest any time I want to by opening that file on the computer, and do so quite often. Tami...whos camera has died, and has to be sent back.

zenfoodist - I hear you...I was a mess about my stove, but honestly I think you are looking at well loved products and short of any really ugly feedback about repairs or service on the stoves, I think you will be in good shape (that is without knowing what your priorities are :) I had decided upfront that I didn't want to spend $5 K on my stove (I have a pretty bad tile and stone addiction that I had to feed and it would really be overkill where I live :) and had read about the stoves that were not as standard issue (electronic controls on the back), but were better priced than the Wolf and Viking. I checked out the American Range, the Capitol and the Bluestar, all in one (long) night. After all that research and obsessing I realized they were all good products with their pros and cons and picked the one I thought I would be the most comfortable with. I wanted something simple that I could just turn on and get flame (but also a convection oven :) I got the 30" RCS - I didn't want to pay the extra $ for the additional BTU for the Nova burner (all my past cooking experience had been on standard issue gas stoves so the RCS power burner blew that out of the water.) ebean is right - it is a 'box of fire' and I know people say that a good cook can use any stove, but I really do prefer cooking on this to my previous low end stoves. I cook, alot, and bake no complaints about the results. I am trying to adjust to the "woosh" - power I am not used to but getting there. Honestly as I try to remember the difference between the three products I can't other than the open versus sealed burners (but I think Capitol was coming out with an open burner.) I really have enjoyed the open burner. For me it is easier to keep clean - or maybe the cast iron looks fine when it is not perfect versus stainless. The best is it just doesn't give me a minute of thought - it just works. But that is only my experience and I have only been using it for 3 months. If you love the wolf or the la c (pretty french thing :) get it, but if you don't love them save yourself a few dollars and go with the blue star. Unless you live in a upscale neighborhood and people expect a wolf. I live in an area that is slowly gentrifying and nobody even knows what the blue star is (and I don't care :) Good luck.

This is a Black Swallowtail. You can tell by the mark on the upper forewing that can be seen through the wing. The white crescent-shaped smudge is what I'm referring to. Congrats!

I've used Photoshop for years with good results.

I use Photobucket, Mary, but they've gotten me confused since they changed things. Now I get the direct link, use my old imbed prefix, add the direct link, and finish it the way I used to do. You can use links for forums, but, for whatever reason, they didn't work for me.

When I try to type out what I use for my links, it doesn't show up on this post, just Image hosted by Photobucket.com. If you need to, I can try and give you the information on an e-mail.

Thank you for the confirmation. It almost has to be my fall over wintered BST. I watched for him the rest of the afternoon, even put out a big pot of blooming Pentas for nectar, in case he returned; guess he's off and away on his life journey without even a backward glance. :-)

Thank you so much for your offer and the information on Photobucket. Now that I've found this online photo storage service, I've been able to figure out how to embed the photo. I know what you mean about knowing one sequence of steps, then having it changed and trying to work through a new system.

I finally figured out how to locate my old Picasa albums by clearing my browser cache. I don't care for the setup of Google+, so need to migrate away from Picasa, I guess. Just grateful I was finally able to get back into the old albums. I have a paid online service but they don't allow linking to the photos.

congrats on your recent sighting of the Red Admiral. My false nettle seeds have yet to germinate but I did purchase fruit I'm allowing to over ripen. Maybe that will draw in a Red Admiral one day.
