Yeah, don't mind me. I've got my own agenda and style and it's different from his. I just don't want to be asked how many of something he has to sell. That's up to him. He knows what's going on with me and I'm sure he'll hold back when he needs to. The GW has been very good for his business and I know he's happy about that, so don't feel like you can't contact him. All I'll say is that you won't see anything of mine showing up on the registry that he hasn't gotten at least one of. The exception may be the Crypts since Larry Giroux is handling that. I haven't submitted any of the Bills yet, but I will start as soon as the Aussie inundation lets up!

Good golly Avane...lol...which one are you regarding as Bailey's choice? I dont have one called that, can you please tell me which pic and which brom? That would very interesting to know.I have many unnamed broms sadly enough , so it would be wonderful to get to know some of them a bit more personaly rather then just dribbling on them all the time...LOL Gosh Jaga,Nice of you to say so, that they are getting better....lol...Ive noticed this also with this shadehouse and living here (been here almost 2 years) and Ive seen alot of changes and I too see them getting better and better, so obviously all about location location. Yup Yup Vriesias are sneeking in more and more. Im loving them mainly for the squigly patterned foliage...and everynow and then you get a nice flower spike pop up amoungst the crowd...so rather rewarding I must say. Oh Oh Oh and yes I do have Vr Gigantea var seildeliana....but mine dont have the 'var' in the name on the tag. They are three tiny little seedlings I bought a year ago and have not grown even one centemetre...lol...maybe they would appreciate a new pot. Yes Rick, I do think it is a Gee Whiz. I just went out to look at his tag as there was a possibility it was called WaHa. But the tag is gone? Ive just planted him out in a garden 2 weeks ago and i seem to have lost the tag....booger Thanks everyone for your comments.I will try to keep some different views comming sometimes, but I just cant get my eyes past the coloured up well formed Neos. Thats when I run for my camera again.

Yes Lisa i think that line "Make sure its not against the wishes etc etc, would interest a few people here in Oz and all , and people should check with the breeder,i guess that sometimes it can't be done as the breeder may have died ,but when they are well known it would seem common courtesy if nothing else ,Richard Harper here in Oz has extended that courtesy to me without hesitation on a couple of occasions (but then we are good friends) and like you I have parted with plants under formula only and i see no problem with that but? some one will give it a name sooner or later (i guess) We have 3 Vrieseas in circulation in Oz under the name of 'Tartan' and the fact that mine is registerd under that name has not stopped the other 2 from being given the same name (not registerd ) did they ask me ? or consider that it may be misleading to some one making a purchase ,or that i may be a tad irate over that ? its difficult to police and I do know if someone else was trying to cash in on YOUR good name i would still be upset ,and then some plants (not registerd ) have been in circulation for so long under a name ,it would seem than to go against common sense for someone else to say , its up for grabs and i'll rename that and register it ,and it may well be against the wishes of the family whose member was the breeder of that plant ,

Hi Patris, I will pot them up tomorrow morning, as here is now midnight and I can't resist those fierce mosquitos outside :-l Some of my Encholirium sp. 'Vau' and Hechtia spp. seedlings have been aparted from seedling box to new pots. From 200 Encholirium, I estimate and hope that they could make around 120-150 :-). I will post their pics when they do establish well.

Very nice Stephania, I picked mine sooner about the time they were turning a dark brown. Since it was my first cross, I was afraid I would miss the grand opening and lose the seeds.

Do have a name for the last photo. Mr. Odean.
Also have another name for the big spiney. Puya berteroniana. Bob thought it was Puya alpestris and the pictures do look the same, but the guy I bought it from says it's berteroniana. From the photos I've pulled up it could go either way. Stephania....hope you can break the tie!

You find the ticket Patris? LOL And Mr Odean is correct. The other one(puya) will be a surprise when it blooms

Yes I did HDD, thanks for reminding me! hehe

I did pull up several pics of the two puya and you are so right about the bloom. Looking forward to that, but understand it take a really long time for them to bloom.

It seems an open debate on the puya time to bloom..I have had mine for 4 yrs and it keeps cutting me and I keep threatening to toss it in a field but I havent yet LOL

Hi Patris,
RE: the Puya, I'm going to go with P. berteronia too,as your seller ID'd it,and because berteronia is more readily available than alpestris,so the odds favor it being berteronia. Also,having both to look at side by side,it seems that alpestris has a lot more leaves,whereas berteronia is a bit more open,as your plant is. But they sure do resemble one another when young. Here's a pic of my berteronia for comparison.
