My first Monarch caterpillar of the season!

Hi guys! I don't write in that often, but tonight I just had to! I have a beautiful Monarch caterpillar on my milkweed in my smaller butterfly garden and I am thrilled! Although last season I watched an adult hatch off of a Penta, it died that night, probably from the pesticides some of these flowers are sprayed with before you buy them. So, technically, this is my first Monarch since I started my garden a year ago! He/She is growing very big. I am going to get some Ladybugs this weekend however, to try and keep control of a rapidly increasing problem with aphids eating his host plant. There were two adults flying around in the garden today, so maybe more eggs are in the making!

I live in NE Palm Bay, Fl, about and hour and a half south of Orlando on the east coast, next to the Indian River.

My email is maryfbex@yahoo.com if anyone else in the area has seen some! I will upload a picture tomorrow if I can. See ya!
