Actually I would start at the same place listed above, Shady Oaks.
Have you checked around locally? Not sure where you are but a good time of year to find them in many areas.

Hi, I am a part of my agricultural class at school and we created a fully indoor, self-sustained hydroponics system. Hi Pit, I only take SASEs, not bubble envelopes. I place the seeds padded with bubblewrap inside a brochure which serves as the envelope liner. All envelopes that leave here are way over a 1/4 inch thick so there's no way they're going through a machine. On a slow day I do just under twenty SASEs, in the thick of it my count will be double that or higher. I don't have the time for fun and games with labels and stamps and trying to fit a brochure inside a bubble mailer. This is a business and efficiency is king ;-) People who don't put two stamps on the SASE get a default pack taped to a note saying they can resend their dated printout with a two-stamp SASE. People who just send a printout without a SASE go to the shredder. People who send s two-stamp SASE without the dated printout get a default pack taped to a note that I need the dated printout. People who ignore/defy simple instructions and send a bubblemailer go to the end of the line--I get to it when I have time. People who follow the simple and clearly stated instructions are very pleased with what they receive. A seed request gets here and it goes out in the very next mail. I can do that because of efficiency. When I have a lot of SASEs I stay up well past midnight to process them. The only time that SASE return time changes is when I take a few days for vacation. I just wanted to post about this pepper. It is very commonly used in many Peruvian dishes, such as Papa a la huancaina and Aji de gallina. I am not much for very hot peppers but my mother-in-law cooks these dishes using the Aji amarillo. She cuts and washes them and takes the seeds out. It has an absolutely wonderful flavor. Also, when boiled and made into a paste for the sauce, Peruvians who do not want that much heat add fresh cheese, cream, and salty crackers to the mix. Sounds weird, I know, but absolutely delicious. My husband, who is Peruvian, loves these dishes and he does not really like spicy food. I looked all over the internet for seeds and found some from Seeds of Change. I cannot wait to grow these peppers this year :)

Any idea what specific variety of milkweed? Since I just today found out that milkweed is a family rather than a specific plant. I recently bought some Asclepia tuberosa seeds locally so I am not looking for more of those. However if it is some other variety then free is my favorite price.

Patty, you can go to LiveMonarch and request free seeds and/or order rooted cuttings of tropical milkweed for a reasonable price. They are small, but will grow quickly. I ordered from them a few years ago and was very pleased.

I have bought Milkweed plants on line from Garden Harvest Supply in Indiana. I've ordered Tuberosa & Incarnata, & they also sell Common. All the plants survived & are full grown now. They arrived as 4 to 6 inch plants with very healthy root systems. Their website is gardenharvestsupply.com

Ever Wilde Farms has a large selection of milkweed seeds (I think 12 different kinds) for about $2.50/packet. Not sure of the shipping, but I got to the site from a recommendation & they have a very good watchdog rating.

milkweed starts better with cuttings or plants...seedlings can work too but they're pretty fragile at first and can be easily destroyed by weather, pets, kids, etc...

If you are looking for tropical milkweed, Janet's suggestion to get cuttings from live monarch looks like a winner. eBay is also a good place to find a wide variety of plants/seeds. Good luck, Tony
