When your heirloom bulbs bloom, I would love to see pics.

Your Charisma babies are looking great. I didn't jot down what I sent to you, so I hope you will let me know when they bloom.

You are so fortunate not to have to fight the frosty days. We had one, and it was not supposed to be that cold, but it was.

Still, most of my amaryllis that were still outside in pots appeared to have kept their leaves because they were somewhat protected, I suppose.

Some of my potted ones went dormant during the drought and unusually high temps this summer. Despite that, they look great, and I am trying to bring all of them inside this weekend.

Just think! In a few years, lots of us will be sharing pics of our seedlings.

((Elizabeth))) Hey girlfriend! My tag wore off the Charismas, looking fantastic I must add! But I believe they are a mix of Charisma x Exotica and Exotica x Charisma! The heirlooms are very exciting! They are smallish bulbs but according to Tony they are all of bloom size. I can't wait! You will most certainly see photos. The bulbs were brought to one of the swaps I was incapable of attending. So Tony and another Florida Gardening guy decided to put together what was left after the swap and send them to me. I feel honored! They knew how much I love Amaryllis. It was so sweet of them! Indeed, Thanks goes to Hans for all his encouragement! Remember when we just had to hang out at the bulb forum until we rallied for them to give us our very own space? Warm wishes to you, my friend!

You had to wade through all of the misc. bulb threads to find the Hippeastrum threads.

It's too bad that they didn't move all of those over here.

I think it would also be nice to have a 'gallery' here. Hans posted some mighty nice pics on the bulbs gallery. Seems that people overlook those, though.

Thanks for promising to post pics. When it came to Charisma, I did really try to get some good crosses. So many blooms! So many pods! I was lucky to keep tags on them. I am not very good at that because I cross so many, but I am trying to get better.

They don't seem to care much what direction the forums go in anymore. I have requested a conversations page here, and got nothing. Oh well, I will just sit back and behave and we can all just ramble on about anything we want to talk about!

I like this though. This way we are a community, and not a bunch of regulated folks talking bulb.

I, also, can't wait to see your AC garden in bloom, Cindee! All the bulbs and seedlings look so happy!

Elizabeth is right... in a short few years, even I will have pictures of seedlings to post! Seedlings that I will grow from seeds that are from pods that were pollinated by me! If that makes sense! LOL!

I just love it here, and can't imagine being a part of a forum that is clinical and stiff... This is more like a family, and I like that type of atmosphere! You guys are all my dearest gardening friends! :-)

We do need a gallery... I love when Sir Hans posts pictures of his wonderful crosses! I love everyones pictures... they're so wonderful to look at!

I'm all for chatting about everything, with Hippeastrums being the main focus... just as any club or group would chat!

I suspect that this forum will become the hybridizers' paradise in a few short years when we all start posting dozens of pictures of interesting flowers our seedlings will give us.

Now, that would be nice... I always enjoy when Sir Hans posts pictures of his own flowers... they're so unusual and pretty! That one reddish one still stands out in my mind, and I hope that someday I'll have an interesting specimen like that!

Anything can happen. I can't really imagine that the hybridizers always knew what they were going to get out of their crosses, and some of the modern hybrids are accidents, lucky accidents.
