daniellalell, I would separate them and then in the spring is you like how they are growing sink them in these pots in a bigger pot for the growing season?
Isn't HD a trip, I guess they didn't do well with plants across the nation and this is why they have it closed off?
I was told end of March to come back and get soil. I wasn't a happy camper and told them some of us have greenhouses and buy our soils with the gift cards we get over the holidays. Let's just say my family will be buying soil earlier this holiday season! LOL

lol Karma, HD really went downhill in '08. Mine had ahrdly any plants all summer, the woman I spoke with yesterday said that they only have a couple vendors they get their plants from, and the vendors were supposed to be coming in taking care of the plants, and they rarely do..so that's the reason they have hardly any plants now. But I could NOT believe they actually had the outdoor section locked up! That is a first. They could have at least brought in the soil, sprays and stuff they have outside to indoors by the inside plants. You can't even by any fert or anything! I said the same thing you did, I told the lady, "ya know you should tell your manager that alot of people bring stuff in for the winter, have GH's, start seeds, etc, and NEED this stuff over these winter months". I guess next year I will have to buy my stuff earlier as well. No stalling allowed. Just sux cuz I depend on the money I get as Xmas gifts to buy that stuff...hmmm..maybe I can convinve the family to celebrate Xmas in Oct? lol..or I'll switch my Bday to Oct..think they'll fall for it? lol!

Thats a good idea, to sink the seperate pots together in a bigger pot come spring so they can still look like they are growing together when they actually aren't.

I think that is a Dracaena (sp?). Similar to Cordyline, but not even related. Many nurseries use the names interchangeably, much to my annoyance. Very pretty grouping though. Definately split them up.

Nice finds Daniella. I like the sago palm. Why can't you find those without the glued on rock stuff? I heard it is bad for the plant and that is why I never bought a sago palm. Bet it keeps the fungus gnats out though, LOL. I like the combo too. I would say enjoy it for a few weeks then split them up when they seem to be overcrowded.

Shawn, actually mine didn't have the glued rocks..after I repotted into a bigger pot, I put those on, they are aquarium rocks, lol. Since I forgot to buy sand, I figured I'd use those for now..I don't have it touching the base though, they are about 1/2" away.

Kylie, yes the one is a schleffera..var umbrella plant..'gold capella'. Glad the red mar drac takes low light. I had wanted a fern or something for low light..of course they didnt have any..so I'm glad I got something for low light, even though I didnt know it, lol. We have a new WM just 5 mins away. They opened in Nov, so they didnt order any gardening stuff..I told them that was dumb..alot of people need supplies over the winter from that dept. I don't like the other WM near me, they have all that stuff but I never go there. Only to buy the Fish Emulsion..they are the only place that has it.

Lucy, I have a Lowe's right next to the WM about 15 mins away..I hardly go there though. They are def better than HD! I should try there for the seed starting stuff. My mom checked th WM by her in PA for me, and they didn't have it yet either!

So, I got bored and split them up already. Seems to be a unanimous decision here, and I thank you for it. With you all saying it, I felt better about doing it. O man were those roots intertwined! Took a while to get them all apart, but so far so good..no shock or anything. As much as I liked them in the same pot, I def like them better in their own pots, yet still grouped together. They look better with more space in between them...not too crowded ya know?

Good deal Daniella! I love the sago. Have seen the variegated plant (last photo), but they never have a name with it.

Thanks El...if no one here knows I'll post over on the name that plant forum..they're pretty good over there. 8 times out of 10 they are right.

I've never had a sago before..was surprised they have those spikey things on them..ouch! lol found out they are highly poisonous as well..put it up away from the kids and dog..hopefully there is no room there for the cat to jump up and get to it.

The last plant is a draceana called Florida Beauty.
