Garden Exchange forum. Sales are prohibited in any of the gardenweb forums. Zowie hybrids don't produce true from seed, as you probably already know. For best quality we need to purchase a new batch of seeds every year.

I've not purchased any seed this year...are the vendors already out of the Zowie zinnias? Seems like I saw them listed (including your yellow flame) at Parks Seed, but can't swear to it. LOVE the Profusion series!

I'm waffling on getting this zinnia because of the potential mildew problems I keep reading about. That might be more of an issue in my neck of the woods than yours.

I was having an issue posting in the seed exchange section. I hadn't chose "United States" in my profile. It took me a while to figure out that was the problem as no alerts showed up and no one from garden forums responded to my request for help.

It would be nice if a warning would come up if you don't choose your country. I'm sure I can't be the first person who did that!

I have received fire, white, and yellow zinnias from trades and excited to see how they look and perform.

I was not aware that the "zowie" zinnias would not produce "true". I have now received two trades of them. I'm wondering what they will look like? Will they just appear as a variation?

Tony - I'd love to see how your Zowie seedlings turn out if you can remember to report later in the summer. Take some pictures. : ) I bet you'll get some pretty bicolor blooms.

I ordered Zowie seeds this year and it will be my first year to grow them. They're expensive for zinnia seeds and some places offer a very small quantity. I'd rather collect my own seeds from them instead of ordering again so I hope they're worth saving.

I purchased Zowie seeds this year, too, from Select Seeds. They are more expensive than other Zinnias, but I have wanted them for so long I decided to break down and get some.

Please feel free to post on the Butterfly Forum any requests for seeds that you feel butterfliers might have. I don't want you to think we are all sticklers.

All that I have read from folks who have grown the Profusion series, say that they self sow freely and look exactly like the original plant. So, I say go for it.
