Hey... Do you guys have a guest like this...hehee..

A young Green pit-viper (Trimerusurus albolabris)

For me the hummers like the feeders but will go to the flowers when the mean male is blocking the feeders or I haven't filled it fast enough. But I am planting out more of their favorites just incase. And I use the 4 parts of water to 1 part sugar recipe all summer for the hummers. Paula

I especially like the cardinal and the turkeys. Are the turkeys friendly? Jacob they ignore me as long as I do not move fast when I walk up on them. They are not friendly they just ignore me and continue to eat. Denise, I have never heard of Turkey Buzzards. lol. I have had as many as 50-60 turkeys in my yard at one time all different sizes. I am on 4 acres of land but I live in a suburban area some house are close some have a good bit of land around them. They seem to like my yard. But you will not see one Turkey from late Oct until Jan. I think they know they could be dinner.

Hey Calamity, I'm Canadian too! Slow, I think I would have to go check out a place called Electric Cowboy. You have far more get up and go than I do. You are so lucky to have found a handyman who will work in "bits and pieces" they are almost impossible to find here - doing good work at a fair price, in small "bits and pieces". We have HUGE bits and pieces coming, I found a great guy to do our whole renovation. We tried to have a yard sale this weekend. We had GREAT STUFF, but nobody came. The weather was "cold" at 55 degrees!! All that work to set everything up, then I had to pack it all into the van (I was determined to get it in there at one load) and we took it to the thrift store. Hubby spent the weekend dismantling an entire metal kitchen set from the 40's in which every element had been painted on several times. The patience that man displayed. I'd have been bored out of my TREE! But every plastic, chrome or bakelite piece had to be removed for stripping and powder coating or re-chroming. They did not tell us this until we got it all the way out to the coaters!! So back home again to take it all apart. I think I would have rather gone country dancing, lol :) GGG

Thanks for your response :) You're right about your guess on the kind of the spider :) But just one thing, about the "dangerous kind", yeah, they are really, really dangerous, I am sure you can easily find out about them and how they can cause, at least, some irreversible damage... it'll of course, depend, but that's good to know that they exist, and if possible remember of them so you or someone else don't "get caught"... Thanks a lot :D

Nice cute snake. Fortunately the only ones I've found in my garden are not venomous. Are the pit vipers very aggressive and quick to strike or not too much trouble to catch as long as you are careful?

I had one similar in my brom house Chanin and took a photo , but he was not venomous like your little fellow
He was just a tree snake and climbed a log when he saw me coming....lol

I think he was after my sunbirds that are nesting in there and also the frogs

Just another boring day in Chanin's garden ;-)
All the same Chanin, I'll take my occasional snail or alligator lizard ANY day!

I used to have some of those, they use the end of their tail as a lure to get lizards and frogs into striking distance. Interesting animals! I bred them here fora couple of years, but when I closed the pet shop I couldn't bring them home. I had a room in the basement where I kept and bred them. I still have my eyelash vipers, but they are at a friends house, and they are nothing compared to some of the things he keeps.

I hope you didn't squeeze too tight!

John, very interesting, I never known they use their tail as a lure, so clever.

My wife is asian-and there's a real fear of tree snakes. Took awhile to convince her that here in California only squirrels are in the trees.
I don't mention much about the possible Rattlers....
