Oh my...thanks for the kind words and for sharing your pics! I agree, that particular cockscomb is indeed a real showstopper. True story here about them and getting the seeds. I was driving down the highway and saw a whole long row of those going across a rural property. The first time I saw/gazed at them, I was in awe, and wasn't paying very good attention to my driving, and hmmmm....got a bit close to the center line. Thankfully a friend was with me and alerted me to get my eyes back on the road and pay attention to my driving. I passed them several more times that year, while they were in bloom, taking extra care to pay attention to the road. Late in the season of that year, I ended up stopping by the place, and talked with the resident and he was more than happy to share the then faded blooms just loaded with seeds. I'm behind right now at getting those seeds out to 3 different members wanting them. YIKES! Sue

I am really hoping that the burgundy celosia reseeded. I didn't find ANY seeds on it!! I thought it was supposed to be so generous? And after last summer's show....I gotta have this in my garden. Thank goodness there are still a few seeds in the trade packet I got last year! Vera, the zinnias DO look pink in these pix. I didn't realize that till now. They are actually lavender. Does it matter? Hope not...you are getting seeds (if I figured out how to harvest them. BLUSH!!) The agastache was so well behaved....unlike most of my ws plants. I had a couple of patches of it and it stood up to wind and rain and all the rest. Not the most amazing of plants...a tiny bit boring, actually. But I'm delighted with anything that blooms and doesn't succumb to insects or disease!

It'll be great. I rarely consider color mix when planting, except a few ideas I steal from others. My beds are getting so full that I rarely can even think about eventual height. I'm a member of bakemom's school of plunk 'n run. Besides, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's your bed, only you have to like it. Karen
