Why don't you go thru my list such as it is and let me know if you find some things you like. I hope you don't mind taking this a little slow.. i am still working on about 7 other trades right now and i am kinda strapped for time & stamps till i can order more. But i am very interested in trading with you. Also i will be able to update my have list as time permits so you'll have more to choose from. As far as your flower seeds i would be glad to let you recommend something that a novice could grow. I'm more of a farmer than a flower grower, but i would love to give them a try. Again if you guys can give me till about tuesday to work on any new trades i should be able to get everything for these earlier ones taken care of by then. Well I got your message a little too late. I got out there in the heat and dug some up. I have no ideal what kind of shape they will arrive in. I tried several different methods. Tropicanna Gold is in a big plastic coke bottle, with wet paper towels wrapped around them. There are 3 nice size rhizomes with several nods on each. Tropicanna Black is in a paper towel roll , without anything around the rhizome. This was a small plant. I kept breaking if off at the ground. Cleopatra is wrapped in wet paper towels that are wrapped with plastic wrap. I included a tall purple leaf canna that I don't know the name of. It gets about 8 ft tall including the reddish orange bloom. I grow most of these for the foilage and not their blooms. Cleopatra is a green leaf canna that blooms very pretty yellow splashed blooms and sometimes they are half red- half yellow. This is one of my favorites when it is blooming. Very full unusual blooms. I have! I use them for food. They are a delicious, and healthy vegetable, very similar to asparagus, but even better. It is an asparagoid. That they are so hated just shows how simple the minds are of those who enforce our value judgements! Azaleas, for example, have a pretty flower, but are very poisonous, and even make poison honey by bees that pollinate them! Yet we grow them with love. Smilax is harsh and thorny for sure, but make for great hedge rows, and are a vegetable that many are unfortunate enough not to try! Similar grows just fine in an urban world. For those interested in self sustaining life styles, similar is a must! It is high in fiber and many vitamins and minerals, vitamin c being one of them! Contains all the nutrition of domestic asparagus, but much more of it! Larger, old growth plants are best for their succulent asparagus like shoots. The soft leaves can be cooked like spinach, but the flavor is definitely asparagus. We spend top dollar for food of unknown origin! Stupid considering you know what you have done to your lawn! Roots may also be used as food, or in making saspirilla tea. Saspirilla is a certain variety of similar, but they all are basically the same! One of my favorite plants!!! Shouldn't forget about the arts and crafts that can be made from trained vines. Aside from running headfirst into one, I have nothing but good to say! That many try to eradicate them is abominable to me! They, and many other wild plants, are the bulk of my daily diet, and so much better than domestic produce! Many props to you! Let it grow!!!
