Directions If coming from Jacksonville  Approx travel time 1-1/2 hours Get on I-10 West till you come to the first Lake City Exit (Highway 90)  Take 90 west thru Lake City until you reach Branford Highway (247) which will be on your left. Drive about 12 miles south until you cross the 247 & 240 intersection (a blinking yellow light with a Shell Gas station on your right). Go thru the intersection (about 300-400 ft) & take the first left onto a dirt road. If coming from Tallahassee Get on I-10 East till you come to 75  go south on 75 till you come to the first Lake City exit (Highway 90)  turn right going east on Highway 90 about 2 miles till you get to the Branford Highway (247) intersection which you will turn right. Drive about 12 miles south until you cross the 247 & 240 intersection (a blinking yellow light with a Shell Gas station on your right). Go thru the intersection (about 300-400 ft) & take the first left onto a dirt road. For those of you coming from the south  Take 75 north till you reach the Ellisville exit (Highway 441) exit there and go north approx 5 miles and youÂll come to a blinking light that is Highway 240. Turn left at the blinking light and go approximately 12 miles to Highway 247 (another blinking light) turn left  at the top of the hill (about 300-400 ft) turn left onto the dirt road. (NOTE: when traveling across highway 240 you will come to a blinking light at highway 47 continue straight across to the second blinking light this will be highway 247) ONCE YOU GET ON THE DIRT ROAD - That is Montego Avenue OR 25th Avenue. One side of the road is Columbia County (Montego Avenue sign) and the other is Suwannee County (25th Avenue sign). Our property (10 acres) is located on the left hand side of the road  about 5 or 6 mailboxes from the initial turn. It is a white (beat-up) mailbox with the name Morelan and 457 wrote with a black marker. Sorry but local kids luv hitting new mailboxes with bats so we keep the old beat up one and they leave ours alone. IÂll try to have balloons on mailbox and maybe a sign. The driveway is about 500-600 foot long & you will come to a clearing where you will be able to park. IÂll try to have a couple of wagons available to help you unload. Please remember to bring small set-up tables and lawn chairs if you can as I have a limited number of these available.

Thanks all for your suggestions! We're going for tropical in the front yard, so will probably settle on queens for the center bed since they're one of the only ones that held up to this past winter. Below is the bed from a side angle, I'll get a better photo this weekend. And below is a doodle for plants I'm thinking about. Ignore the orphaned yucca on the bottom, he should be up with the other 2. Any suggestions for this bed? The robellini is planted and doing fine, now we just need to add some plants around it before we get the edging and gravel (pea gravel the shade of sand). I LOVE the daisy bush (Gamolepis chrysanthemoides) and have wanted to plant one for a while, and they stay green throughout the year when they're not flowering. The yucca is ok, it's hardy and green (maybe look for soft leaf yucca). I'm open to suggestions! I think we need more color. I was looking for the name of the plant I know as Thai Plant, it's thin stalks aboud 3 ft high to start and has reddish pinkish broad leaves. Anyone? I think we'll add a small coquina or two to this bed too. So suggestions are appreciated, also, has anyone dealt with pea gravel instead of mulch? We're just tired of the fading and replacing the mulch several times a year, so we're really leaning toward gravel. I know it's more expensive up front, but less work in the long run? Remember, I'm a newbie to gardening! :)

Treefrog--So, let's talk bananas. You saw my pictures in the blueberry thread. Most of the banana plants are Klunamwa. (That may not be the exact spelling.) They are semi dwarf and do very well in colder climates. The bunches of bananas are small (but not too small) but they produce every year so this is the trade-off. Personally I like smaller bunches because when my Goldfinger gives me a bunch that weight about 40 lbs., that is too much to eat at one time. There is a cold hardy banana I had that produced bananas so small that I dug out the plant. So, the Klunamwa is exactly what you need. I have plenty I can share. We can work out details about that if you want some. Christine

Barbcoleus, sheep are not easy. I had a small flock that I planned for, that would crop the grass. Instead they ate my fruit trees, shrubs and grape vines. They ignored the lush lawn totally. They "would" eat expensive T&A hay, grains, and Peanut hay. They had to be clipped, dipped, wormed, and have regular hoof trimming. They hate any kind of touching, so any treatments were a battle. They were extremely noisy. My husband couldn't take the constant "baaahing." I loaned them out at X-Mas for live Nativity Scenes at a local church. They were a big pain in the neck. I placed them all in pet homes. I won't own them again. Cute, but very dull-witted, and high-maintainance. Turkeys are much better "farm" pets. Sweet and gentle. I've never had pigs, but I get to listen to, and smell the neighbor's pigs. Ugh! Lisa
