amaryllis packing up from' Summer cottage'

Yes, they were all lifted today and are lying on the surface of the bed to start drying out. Looks like they were doing fine until the last week when we got quite a bit of rain. Now a lot of the surfaces are showing some rot but with a little clean up and some fungicide I think they will be fine. Most look no worse then a lot of the bulbs I ordered last fall. They all look plump and had from 5-7 leaves on them, nice long healthy leaves, 2 of them have made nice clisters over the summer! Many had a baby or two added to the family. I did not count but I think all 100 are there still. I better go load up on potting sil of the right type...will see what I Can find in the stores. No way I can afford clay pots for all these guys much as I would like it. I may pick up half a dozen and the rest will just have to go back into the recycled nursery gallons.

JOdi, your little amies look great! I will seperate and pot up mine while I am into the potting soils with the big ones. What a chore this will be, but what dreams go into it!

The good news is...not a sign of any infect infestation except one tiny slug hiding between the leaves! I did use a systemic insecticide on them when I planted them out at the end of April, and it seems to have done the trick!
