Putting the babies to sleep...bulbils and bulblets
Hello everyone!!! I hope you and your Amaryllises are doing alright as mine are. Night temperature is slowly going down now here in VA from 50s to 40s in a couple of days. Soon I will be putting my Amaryllises to rest with the exception of Papilio and Cybisters. A lot of them has put out some babies. My La Paz which I just purchased a couple of months ago has given me the most babies...8!!! I feel sooooo lucky! We have talked about how to prepare the Amaryllis (mother)bulbs to sleep. But what do we do with the bulbils and bulblets? My Green Goddess (mother) is already resting but it's baby is not. Do we cut off their leaves too just like the mother's or do we leave them alone and just wait for their leaves to dry? Would it be best to seperate them now from the mother and let them continue to grow indoors and let the mother rest?
It feels soooooo good to be back in the forum!!!
