Despite being out of commision for a week and a half, I've mananged to keep everything alive. Cannas are starting to show some growth. The babmboo isn't looking so hot, but I don't know what it is or what it likes. It was in a five gallon container , and I've forgotten who I got it from...muchto my shame. I added some potting mix to it's container and trimmed back the dead culms, but so far no signs of new growth. I haven't planted the Poppy seeds or Pumieria yet.

Judy B's Queen of the Night is looking happy, as are the hedgehog, hesperaloe, and Detrick's "Abigail." Two chunks of stapelia are a bit soft (probably overwatered when I potted them) but the others seem solid -- hope they bloom next year. Three Striped Beauty Canna have shoots, but the unnamed yellow is still shy. Glad the POB BOP was still viable; I found it to be a strong grower. Thanks everyone!

Now I have to work on planting the great stuff from the DBG and Master Gardener's sales. :-)

Jim, one of my goodies that didn't make it was the cow-horn (?) euphorbia. It just sort of turned brown slowly. Did I do something wrong, d'ya think?

Usha, the gallon BOP didn't grow but the little ones are planted and appear to be thriving.

Zill's opuntia is doing well, as is the fairy-castle cactus that I got from...?

The penstemon from Troon is in its new residence. I hope it likes it.

Thom, the hyacinths faded and are on their last legs, er, floats.

I know there's more that has slipped my mind, it's h*ll to be an old plant-addict. ;-)

The fairy-castle cactus came from me and I'm happy to hear it is doing well. I expect to plant the roses I got from you next weekend when we rent a post hole digger. There's 3 of them. Do you remember what kind they are? You told me but I did not write them down and cannot remember.

I picked up a bunch of stuff:
Mexican Flame vine, one doing well, one croaked.

Something that looks like wandering jew only it's pale green, doing well.

Someone gave me an incredible yucca plant. It is so awesome. Just repotted it yesterday to a nice clay pot while I decide what to do with my landscaping issues. It looks grand!

Some small Ruella (?) are trying hard not to die.

Lantana and Lysiloma in a small six pack: lost one Lysiloma and two doing ok. I want to use one as a bonzai project, wish me luck. The lantana is a gorgeous red.

All in all, everything I picked up is doing ok. Thanks to all.

Judy: The one I kept is doing ok. Did it dry out or rot? if it dried out, it may have lost contact with the soil. If it rotted it may hve picked up a fungus. "Sterile" rooting mediums aren't always sterile. The rooting hormone has a fungicide in it, but may have washed off the cut during watering. I can get more cuttings, so I'll try to get one rooted for you.

The miniature rose is called Teddy Bear. It has small russet colored blooms that fade to lavender.

The one with no stickers is Smooth Perfume, a pink Hybrid Tea.

The quite spiny one is Comte de Chambord, an Old Garden Rose. It is pink and has a delightful fragrance.

Jim,
I had a look at the cow horn. The leaves are dry and hard and the part underground is mushy green. Not real gooey but soft and friable.

My water clover, poppy, snow flake and lily from Lynne are all doing GREAT! My water hyacinth from Thom? is very happy in the top of my 70 gallon pond filter & already multiplying :) the clover from Jim is blooming and happy :)

I haven't had time to plant any of the seeds yet,
but all the plants are doing great. They are
in pots and I plan to put part of them in the
ground soon. Hopefully they will do well there
too. I re-did my raised bed making it larger,
just waiting for DH to put the fence back up around
it so my dogs can't get in.

Shew - no time for the seeds yet, but things have been doing great otherwise.

Jim, is that really cool succulent with the hugemongous thorns on the ridges a euphorbia? Mine is doing great and it's just a reallllly cool plant.

I got a couple of sword ferns that I totally neglected, but they seem to have survived anyway, thankfully. I need to put them in the larger pots that they will be living in.

The irises from Sam, Bill and someone else are in the iris patch (the patch is becoming pretty large - they're joining past presents from Judy_B - I'm afraid there's no rhyme or reason to the colors or type anymore!). The mystery bulbs from Jim are all in the gorund (that's a record for me, by the way) - can hardly wait to see what they are!

The aloes, the aloes, the aloes..... from Sculptress, I believe? They really need to be put in the ground - some got too much sun in the bags so I had better move it!

And Judy_B's rose is supposed to go in the ground as soon as the construction guy puts up an arbor, but it's taking him a while to get around to such a small job, *sniff*.

What a nice surprise I had this morning - what I thought was plain vanilla cactus cuttings have bloomed! Wow. A dark red flower. No idea what type of cacti this is but it's very lovely. Thanks to whoever contributed this little beauty.

My 2 water hyacinths are now 5 :) The road kill cactus from Detrick appear to be rooting and happy :)
