It turns out Scribd has numerous orchid books available to download, including some of the early ones: The Various Contrivances by Which Orchids are Fertilised by insects - Charles Darwin 1886 Cool Orchids and How to Grow Them (1874) - Burbidge, F. W. The Culture of Greenhouse Orchids - Old System and New (1902) - Boyle, Frederick Fieldiana Botany, several volumes. Example: Fieldiana Botany, V30- 2 Orchids of Peru, by Charles Schweinfurth. Chicago Natural History Museum, 1959. Features Schweinfurth's drawings. I have no idea if this is considered a classic. The Orchid Review, early 1900s - several volumes. More recent articles & books, including several by Frowine: Orchids for Dummies, by Steven A.
