I don't think it's the soil, Xuan... I use a different soil for the AV. I think it's actually the environment... the indoor temperatures and humidity fluctuate on an uneven basis, and while bulbs can tolerate that, I don't think the AV likes it very much, at all! The orchids don't like it, either. Someday, when we finally buy a home and move, I'll be able to grow a wider variety of plants because the heating and cooling systems will be different and the humidity will be more constant. The heating and cooling set-up here is not very well thought out, but since it's not my house, I can't change anything. Honestly, I'm just happy that bulbs are able to tolerate the conditions... I imagine those will do much better once we move, too. Actually, the plant is healthy... it's just been neglected. It hasn't gotten enough light, I think, which caused it to stretch and grow tall. It's an older plant... I've had it for about 5 years. It bloomed nicely for about the first 2 or 3 years, almost non-stop! It got pushed out of the light it needed by my growing bulb collection, and I didn't bother to pinch off the side shoot that grew... it turned into a two-headed monster!

I have been in Figs for years now and I never used insectcide on Figs. I use Fungicide all the time especially for Brown Rust. Just in case of you are looking for organic Fungicide I use Copper Spray. It takes time to work. Captan is toxic but it kills on the spot.You may need an Insectcide. As Organic one I have no Idea except for surround which I doubt that is what you need.

I'm glad to hear from you Linda. I've been thinking of you & hoping time is making things a little easier but I know you miss Little Boy every day. Whenever Fat Cat Nemo is plopping his big self down on top of my plants or using my garden as his litter box I remind myself not to get cross with him because I'm lucky to have my furry garden 'helper'. He is a big love. Anyway, just wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you. The forum is indeed slow as molasses lately. Here are a few more... Rainforest Sunrise Summer Breeze Jack Of Diamonds Guacamole in May Guacamole now I got Guacamole last fall from Bluestone Perennials as a little TC plant in a 3 inch pot. It sure has grown quite a bit since then. I foresee it getting big pretty fast. EO...I only have shredded mulch added over the soil, haven't added any compost or any other amendments, though the stray cats have been leaving 'deposits' around the hostas, which has gotten rather annoying, they mound up the mulch to cover it then I have to spread it back out again.
