LOL, then after you start trading, save your envi's, you won't have to buy anymore! trust me on tht! i had a whole huge kitchen trash bag full of them!! LOL one time i had two of them full!! i thought i'd need them, so i saved them (i wasn't trading for a bit) LOL ya, i ended up throwing them away, hubs said throw them away!!!! man, he was furious!! LOL so save them! they may look alittle used, but they are reusuable, i used aknife to open mine, LOL and i sometimes either used scotch tape or stapled them shut, as for the baggies, i use walmart little baggies (100/99 cents in the hobbies) and i made some using the method they showed, and pumkingal? she had a whole page on how to make them and so did quiltingfox. its very economical! LOL especially if you get lots of magazines! LOL

I am sorry photobucket locked up my albums. I will repost the tutorial here: 1. Cut paper into a 3 1/2" or 4" square, wider if you need a larger envelope. 2. Fold the square into a triangle like so: 3. Fold the two flaps almost all the way to the base of the triangle: 4. Fold the two corners of the triangle toward the center: 5. Unfold the flaps. Place a piece of transparent tape over the two corners. The envelope will look like this: Please note the base of the flaps. If the two corners of the triangle are folded a little deeper so that the flaps are not perfectly triangular, small seeds will not leak out. 6. Seeds go in between the two flaps: 7. Fold down the flaps and insert it into the envelope, like so: Inserting the flap into the envelope keeps seeds from leaking out. I actually got the idea from kizzyseeds and, I believe, tidewaterlily. Both of them sent me seeds in plain folded envelopes with no tape at all. None of the seeds leaked out. Using catalogs was my idea. It's a good way to recycle seed catalogs. :-) Have fun!

jodie74, I'd recommend making newspaper pots or using paper towel tube pots instead...last year I used both and they worked great for my morning glory seeds. By the time they were ready to plant out, the roots were almost growing out the bottom, so I think the bathroom cups might just be a bit too small to allow for root growth, unless you plan to plant our fairly quickly, or transplant into a larger container. Also, most brands of paper coffee cups and bathroom cups these days have a thin plastic coating over the paper made of a chemical called polyethylene. Polyethylene is not biodegradable, and takes centuries to break down in the soil, which is why most paper coffee cups and bathroom cups are not recyclable. You can tell if your paper bathroom cup is coated in polyethylene or not if the inside walls of the cup feel smoother and look more shiny than the outside walls of the cup. People are working now to develop corn-based coatings for paper cups instead of the plastic/polyethylene, but the newer polyethylene-free cups are kind of expensive. If you use paper towels, the tube is free! You can also use toilet paper tubes. I'm pretty sure both are un-coated paper and will biodegrade/break down safely in your garden soil.
