What are you veggie growers planting now

Just curious what others may be starting, if anything, in this heat.

I really wanted to try pumpkins this year but wasn't around to start the seeds in time for Halloween. So I opted for butternut squash instead. I started both butternut and cantaloupe inside and out last month so now I have 2 good plants of each growing.

I just seeded some sweet corn and sunflowers today. Will do more corn in 2 weeks. Have a zucchini seedling almost ready to go out and will direct seed as well. Darn tomato plants didn't make it but the okra and peppers have so far.

I put out some watermelon seedlings two days ago fully expecting them to die. These were from a germination test I did on some saved seed. They're actually holding up and looking good which is surprising since they're not covered and in full all day sun. I don't expect anything since they're a long season variety, but it's worth a shot.

Can't wait to get the cooler weather stuff going.
