Going Bananas Gingerwood Nursery I normally order all my plants from these two nurseries and between them you can get nearly every banana available in the US market. The prices are a bit higher then some other places but thats the price for quality plants and service. Ive never heard anything bad about either of these.

Please help! I have a banana plant in a container that I have had for several years. I place it outside in spring and in the sunroom in winter. For several months I have noticed that it has dark spots where the leaves meet the stalk. Is this normal? Now, the leaves are beginning to have large dead areas. I have removed these leaves to save the plant. Was this a good idea? The plant did produce a new leaf, but it has damage too. Should I cut off the remainder of the leaf from the stalk after it dies back or is this contributing to the problem? All remaining leaves have dead areas around their periphery.

Gwynne, I agree with MissSherry about it being Mike who recommends Ron Rottman. I remember Mike posting Ron's email address just recently, but I have no idea which thread it was in. I looked in FAQ and it says the email address is dogwood at eritter dot net. Cathy

Good to know; they offer a nice selection of southern native plants which seem to sell out quicker than I manage to order.
