Curious what they sell for there. Did you inquire on pricing?

No, I didn't ask. I just got my first three naners this year, and I'm not in the market for a high-priced tender one! I'm not even sure he's willing to sell them right now -- but I think he's got at least eight or ten of them scattered around, maybe more.

I like to go down there when I visit Nashville, 'cause he's always got interesting stuff -- especially in variegates. I got my variegated Monstera deliciosa from him, as well as my Philodendron 'Pink Princess'. And he's a nice guy. I'm sure he'd be happy to talk to ya if you ask Information to look up his number. :-)

Blooms is just a few miles from me, and I go down there quite a bit. His butterfly greenhouse is open now, and if you get a chance to see it, do it! He sells lots of varieties of bananas there, including musellas, basjoo, zebrina, ensete vent. var. maurelii, ensete vent., several fruiting varieties, and more. He does specialize in variegated plants, and has quite the collection. I bought my variegated alocasia macrorrhiza there.

And that's one beautiful banana! Maybe I need one of these suckers after all....after all, it looks a lot like Stuttgart cannas, and that's one of my favorite plants of all time. :-)

Don't know yet. I really just need to get rid of a lot of my plants, not swap them. I have way too many orinocos going under the house this Fall. October 15th is a bit early to dig them up though. I may just come with a few items, and enjoy the scenery and food! Maybe even camp that night, who knows. I have too many plants as it is. I just keep on buying and buying and buying and...well...it's a sickness you know.

Yes, I love your Ae Ae, think that is the prettiest one I have seen yet!

Why, thank you both! I had a very white leaf emerge soon after that picture, and the sun burned it up a little. Stuck it back in some more shade since then. These very high temps and no rain have not been very nice. My water bill is pretty high. The ae ae took more sun in the Spring without getting burned up on the white part near as bad as it is now. Same for the alocasia.

I hope to see you at the swap! Nobody will mind if you just give away plants.....LOL.

Alocasia macrorrhiza 'Golden'. Better even than a. macrorrhiza variegata in my above picture! New leaves (like one on the left) are a nice, golden color before changing to white. Awesome!
