Same thing happened to me last year -- only had one plant survive. It made a nice flower plume thing -- kinda like a big corn cob. I saved the seeds and I still have them, because I never got round to sowing them, and I guess it's prolly too late.

Yes, you'll get seeds, but beware that some say they don't come true. Others say they do. Still others say that some seeds come true and some don't.

So you had the right idea when you mentioned finding out next Spring. Maybe I'll toss a few in somewhere just to see what they do. They really like the warm weather, and there's no shortage of that now.

....I have about 8 seedlings, 2 planted out and neither locations have grown past 2"!!

Okay vera, then I will not mention that my millet plant is my largest winter sown plant this year! ;-) It has been growing in its milk jug since there was only one survivor it had plenty of room. Not sure it is "true" but it has turned a nice burgundy color.

I stuck it over near my "vegetable garden" which now has an odd mix of plants (3 tomatoes, 3 peppers, 2 beans, 1 canna, 1 ornamental grass, 1 millet).

A few years back I wanted to bash the myth that they wouldn't so I combined seeds from traders across the country and sowed them all together.

I had 100% dark purple plants, subsequent generations have also reproduced true. This hybrid is stable.

I've sowed seeds that I've collected from my plants and all have come true, even though there were other varieties of millet nearby.
