Finally!

I actually should have said 'has been smoking", because this picture was taken last month. :-)

I WSown it a winter ago. How about that! I am collecting seeds now and will WS some more this winter. :-)

Hi, I WS last year feverfew, Laura Bush petunias and a bunch of other annuals and perennials around mid-February. The LB petunias were amazing and bloomed all the way thru end of October. This was my first time WS'ng and I was suprised to see how easy it was to do. Unfortunately, I was not able to do any WS'ng this year - busy at work and just lazy! I did tag everything that I WS last year and its great to see what has come back. Good luck!

My no shows/slow goers so far are Salvias verbenas petunias a few different kinds I think the dampness got to some of them columbine native mexican petunia jug got dropped calla lily mix I so wanted these cannas (they love heat so more time) hibiscus ( again heat lovers) texas bluebonnets Aster grego/crego mix torenia suzy wong japanese maple hardy glozina pink agastache pink pop penstemon huskers red ganzia from different trades coneflower pow wow wild berry But I am waiting for the rain to go away from more than a day or two to dump any of the jugs except for the mexican petunia and more seeds for that one. But I do have plenty other starts to take the places of those who have not germinated yet. Paula

I first made the transition from milk jugs to vinegar jugs. They are much sturdier and totally round so easier to clean out. We use vinegar for cleaning, laundry, cooking so jugs were easy to come by. Putting plant stakes or sticks through the handles was a great way to keep them from tipping over and propping the lids open in spring. Now, I am loving my big yogurt containers with plastic bag cutouts in lids. Much easier to sow into, plant out of, clean, and store stacked for next year. They are plenty deep enough. Only down side is less head room for growing plants in spring. Usually I take the tops off by the time they are big enough to hit the roof. Eating 1-2 containers a week keeps me in steady supply.

Oooooh la la!!! How cool is THAT?? Do you have the Botanical name? Do you have a picture of the whole plant? One more ?, where did you get the seeds?

Beautiful photo. Mine was just starting to bloom when it was smashed by hail.
I am happy to see your seed heads. Wondered how they would look smokey.

Love it, I would also like to see a distance shot to see what the plant looks like. It would match the color of my shutters!

Thanks, everyone. Yes, it's Geum triflorum. Friends gave me seeds....and I snatched some from a park in Chicago. Tee hee hee.
Sorry, tiffy. I looked through my files and found no picture of the whole plant. I'll go out tomorrow to take some. Hope they didn't get smashed. A tornado just went through the area this evening. Mine are still small, but the ones in the park are at least 18" tall. They are grouped together in large drifts. They were quite impressive when I saw them yesterday. I will see if they suffered any storm damage when I go to work on Monday.

Here are some more photos. They were taken last month. They are even smokier now and started to fly away.
