privacy clumping bamboo for part shade, slighly sloping backyard

Hi Everyone

We own a home in northern NJ (about 10 minutes outside of NYC) and we're looking to create a privacy screen along an 80 foot side of our home (and possible another area of the property). The property (which is only 90x100 in total length/width) slopes downwards slightly from the street. The 80 foot side that we're thinking of planting is mostly in shade (with part sun towards one edge); the soil is somewhat clay like and is med-to-very acidic (we've had luck growing the standard shade loving plants: hosta, azaleas, dogwood, etc. I think given that we're in an urban area the clumping (non-spreading) type of bamboo would be ideal.

We're looking for a nice dense privacy hedge and it will need to reach at least 10 feet height (given the slope in the property; we also have a raised deck in backyard so we'd like some privacy when we're sitting on it).

Maybe Fargesia robusta?! Any thoughts?

Best,

Vincent
