Limited morning sun( 4-5 hours) verse shaded afternoon sun (6+)

Hello,

Can anyone offer me their thoughts on what would be better for my tomatoes?

I have a small balcony on the 3rd floor. It faces roughly southeast on the short side and south west on the long side.

the corner points south but is blocked off by a small wall.

So I have a choice on how to position my containers holding my tomato plants. Either bunch them together on the short southeast side for limited morning sun. Maybe 4 to 5 hours at the most. Or I could line them up on the south west facing side. This will get them 6+ hours of full sun but it will get very hot. With the first 90+ degree days forecast for the coming week I plan to put up some shade cloth along the balcony railing.

So what does everyone think would be better the limited amount of full sun but during the cooler mornings or more sun in the afternoons but using a shade cloth.

And what would be right amount of shade? 30%, 40%, or more?

Thanks.
