It is horrible. It rained here in Columbus this morning, and it looks like more is on the way, but will it be enough? Probably not. Looking at doppler radar just now, it looks like there could be pop ups. Cross your fingers.

Unfortunately for us, areas north and south of us are getting the rain, and it's fizzling out in the middle. We're the hole in the donut yet again.

The rain came and went. We got drizzle twice, about 2 minutes each time. The inside of my rain guage is wet, but none to measure. And it's over

Karen I am in the same boat. I am desperate for rain. Our well has dried up and we are now having to have water brought in. The garden is a mess, the ground is cracking, and I still have nothing but a few things to show from wintersowing this year. Nothing germinated for me still. I gave up. I can not keep up with the watering when we need it for other things more. This madness has got to end soon!

Scoutiegirl: where do you live? I'm in Delhi Twp, about 5 miles west of downtown Cincinnati.

Sorry to hear about your well. It must be a lot tougher for those with wells. I know nothing about the experience since I've always been a city kid. I just keep watering. Can't imagine what the water bill will be this time.

Sorry to hear that so many are short on rain. We have had enough to keep us from browning out, but we are due. We have had a water ban all spring which is unusual for us.

scouttiegirl...that is so crazy. I keep remembering the photos you posted of all that SNOW! I would have thought that was enough to start your spring off on the right foot. Isn't this unusual weather for your area?

Very unusual! We even had to get water in the winter brought in. We had no snow all winter and then got pounded with it. Now we have had no rain all spring. We are supposed to get some showers tonight, so keeping my fingers crossed.

It seems every year just keeps getting crazier with this weather.
I have gotten to the point that after the kids take a bath I use the water to water the garden....lol.

So you had a dry winter, too. That's why I questioned where you are in New York- I knew that some parts (poor Linda!) were measuring their snow in feet last winter.

Karen we got socked with that 6 feet or more, but it was very late in winter that it came. I am about 10 miles from oswego county. We didn't get all of what they did but close to it. Because of that it was a very dry winter and the ground did not hold in any water. All that snow came at the end.
As I am typing this now I hear the thunder coming. Hoping it is carrying lots of rainclouds with it...lol.

I just keep trying not to complain as I know the farmers are having a much hardy time.

That is supposed to say harder and not hardy time.

YES!!!! We got our rain! I am doing the happy dance!

I am not sure how much we got, since it rained during the night,but the ground is still wet at 10:30. That's gotta be a good sign! I just looked at the forecast for the week and it is finally gonna be cool in the 70's with another storm tomorrow.
Linda the raindance worked! Hope you got a good downpour by you as well. I know if I needed it you did too.

Unfortunately, the rain dance didn't work for me. All my WSown are in the ground except a few perennials that I had potted up, but I still have things I wanted to transplant from place to place. And those potted up things I'd like to get in ground now but it's just too hot and dry. I've given up until fall because so much is frying in the heat and drought. I guess I'll have to pot them up to bigger pots if I want them to survive. It does have to get better by fall, doesn't it? I sure wish you guys with all the rain and cool temps could send some to me.

I will shout from the rooftop when (If?) it rains. Revised forecast is giving us a 30% chance of rain on Saturday.

Of course the weather guy pretty much promised rain yesterday. When it didn't materialize my friend said she feared I whould go to channel 9 with a gun to shoot the weather man.

This has to end soon. The weather pattern can't last forever.

I'm in the same boat! (bad choice of words) It's been over a month since it rained here in western Kentucky - oophs! There were three drops the other day. I'm dragging hoses all over these 7 acres. That gets old and tiring FAST!

Please someone do a rain dance for us!

All I hear from our weather station is "blah, blah, blah"!
I want to hear "rain, rain, rain"!

Yes! Finally! It rained today. We got 0.2 inches in my rain guage. To some it might not sound like much, but we were ready to dance in the streets.

Our rather brown lawn actually looks a little better already and it looks like it grew some today. It hasn't been mowed in 3 weeks because it didn't grow at all in that time. Temp was down to the 80s, too, but supposed to get back up to the 90s by Sunday.

I'm really grateful! No watering for a day or two.
