I live in chandler...and would like to hear about the Ponding Society :D Before I built my pond I had the same questions. I did quit a bit of digging on the internet and found this little nugget again and again. A pond uses dramatically less water per square foot than a green lawn does. I used the info to ease my concience but kind of doubted it until I converted most of my backyard in to a patio and pond area. My pond only needs a few gallons of water a week during the winter months and maybe 5 gallons a day or so when its scorching vs probably 2-3 times that when I had a grass backyard. Not to mention all the wildlife who now rely on my pond for water. Seeing how many AZ responses you got, I think I will put a AZ thread up asking about some plant suggestions. Ive struck out with a few different plants and dont want to waste more money. Lilies, Irises and Canna grow like weeds though

My camera is a Canon PowerShot A720IS. Using the lens that came with the camera. Bought it June 2008. I've been very pleased with the macro shots I get with the camera. With this sulphur, I just put the camera in macro mode, held the camera right next to the butterfly, let it autofocus and snapped the pic. All the pics I took of this butterfly turned out very well. The linked pic is the one that got closest to the butterfly so it shows the most detail (pic has been cropped a little). My wife thought the pic I posted was the best because it showed more of the flowers. My camera before this one was a Kodak DC280 Zoom. It was miracle if my macro photos were in focus. Used the camera for seven years and never could figure out why once in a great while, a macro shot actually worked. Here is a link that might be useful:

Nah, not really. What I did was waited until a Saturday, potted the popped ones, then waited a week and planted the one or two stragglers the next Saturday. Pretty much after that, I didn't have any that popped. However what you might do is something I just recently started. Take unpopped seeds, put them in water, if they floated, I pitched them. If they sank, I threw into a bucket with natural dirt from my back yard. Then I forget about them. I think I will check on them about April and see if anything is going on.

As long as your air is not too dry and you buy engineered Bamboo you should be fine. If you use solid Bamboo you will probably have problems. If your air is too dry, any wood you install could be problematic. It can cause shrinking and cracking.
