It was an odd sensation to say the least and I couldn't move away for a second or two. You just kind of stand there and tremble as the electricity courses through you. I'd guess the only time it would be dangerous is if you have an implanted medical device or maybe a heart condition. The electric fencing is only at the farm. I couldn't have it at my house or I'd be zapping children right and left. lol My iochromas are at my house. The farm is just for plants and cut flowers for the business. I do use the farm greenhouses to winter over some of my plants that don't need to be kept warm. It's too expensive to heat those greenhouses much above freezing. My electric bill is about $800/mo just to heat my little backyard GH to 68 F over the winter. Kylie I've never seen an orange iochroma. The closest I've seen are shades of red. Who knows what color blooms these seeds will produce. Once again most of the pods are on the wine and scarlet colored plants but there's some purples with pods too. Dragon Fruit is very easy to grow but you'll want to make some sort of platform to grow it on. They get huge and are very difficult to move. If you look through the tropical forum there's someone in Ohio that has a great platform that he built in his greenhouse. I never secured mine and would snap off 6' sections when trying to move it. The plant itself is kind of ugly but the blooms are spectacular. I couldn't tell you which color has the best flavor. There's so many varieties of each, red, pink and white. Take a look online at some of the Dragon Fruit farms in Asia. They're really something. Karyn

I think I found the answer to my first question on the Fedco Seeds site: "Be My Baby Gene Pool Cherry Tomato OG (65 days) Open-pollinated. Ind. This productive cherry is the ongoing result of a cross of three famous tomatoes: an heirloom potato-leaf beefsteak and two cherries, one orange and one red. The crossing and selection process began in 1997. Although it was selected for a red cherry with regular tomato foliage, a few plants will still be potato-leaved. Rogue them out because their flavor is not as desirable as the rest. The grape tomato in its background lends a rich sweet flavor somewhat akin to that of Sweet Baby Girl, which it replaced. Bred by Relentless. 2007. OT, CO-certified." I still don't know if a large tomato can result from crosses involving cherries. Jim

There was a site called Virtual Pepper that had a post where a guy used white glue to isolate his flowers-it had pics etc.of the process. I use it but there are some drawbacks. If you put glue on at the wrong time the flower drops off. There is a time thats too early and too late to glue the flower shut. For me you loose a lot of flowers but the ones that survive are pure. I only do it to a few of my flowers at a time so I still get peppers from my plant. You basically put a drop of glue on a closed flower before it opens. The growing pepper pushes the glue off as it grows. You mark the flower with a thread tied loosely at the stem of the glued flower. Water washes the glue off so you have to watch out when watering or use the white glue thats waterproof. I have a lot of ants etc. in my garden so using bags etc. to issolate buds doesn't work well for me,some critter allways gets in the gel cap,bag etc. The sites gone-my bookmark goes to a site domain expired message. One guy used a popsickle stick with a small dish/indentation in it to put a drop of glue in to coat the flowers with. You might want to try this method on your buds. It works better inside than out for some reason-might have something to do with moisture or sun/heat on the glue thats on the bud,I don't know. I assume you understand that given the unusual and artificial indoor growing methods you are using that the flavor and productivity of any variety will be affected and in most cases reduced? Just as one cannot expect field-grown flavor from greenhouse grown tomatoes, one cannot expect nearly the same levels of production from container grown plants. And your methods of leaf reduction, spectrum alteration, and containerized soil moisture control would have even more effects. As someone who does all three - GH, container, and field growing - I learned years ago that you have to learn to keep the expectations in line with the methodology regardless of the variety used. Dave
