That looks like either sunburn or simply just dieing back.

I have 20 adult H. coccineus and about 30 juvinals. I've had teh adults for about 12 years. I live about a 1/4 mile from the Monterey Bay in a rather shady area. They always do well here.

I'm no expert. This is just my opinion.

Santo. I may have sopme seeds later this year. the bulbs are in bloom right now.

I would say that the leaf is starting to dry or it got sun scorched.
I have four bulbs and the leaves grow inpressivly large, they dry off in summer and they flowered a few weeks ago,as the flowers are starting to wilt new leaves are appearing. I am no expert in them either.
