So...April...do tell what and where you ordered?

I just got free shipping on a Brother P-Touch labeler on E-Bay, I like the free shipping bonus, too! I'm going to order the Paw Paw zinc markers and make my own labels instead of ordering.

BTW, it's ugly here in Illinois. 2" of snow today with 1/2" of ice predicted for Thursday nite. Not good...I despise winter.

All I have to say is "have at it". Aprils free shipping was from J&P and the cheap was from S W Greenhouse. Ann from Tenn told me about S W. Yep, the rose monster is UNLEASED! hahaha. I think J&P might have a $50 minimum to get the free S&H...can't remember. And yes,Beth, S&W has the 5%, $5 S&H. I think their discounts get better the more you order.

April, I have Windermere; you'll love, love it! Beautiful white flowers. I planted it last year as a J&P milk carton bareroot that I bought at the local Menards...go figure that a big box store carries roses. Free shipping,,,well, kinda...cash and carry! Dana who posts on here and lives in Peoria right by me posted and told me that Menards had the J&P roses and of course I drove right there and bought a bunch. Had to, right??? Free shipping ..

I used to have Distant Drums..I had two ownroot plants but they both died this spring; didn't make it through the winter. I have another on order that is grafted. The colors are sensational; lavendar, pink, and orange blends.

Terry....Glad to hear about Windermere. I'm kind of getting into the whites now. I bought Iceberg last year and LOVE it. It's a blooming machine. We don't have a Menards around here. I got some cartoned roses at Lowe's last year though. I've been wanting DD for over a year so I hope it does good for me.

Judy is THE ultimate shopping monster. hehehe. She is the one who got me hooked on gw in the first place. I've always loved roses and got started mainly with knockouts at first...it took her a while to start loving the ko's but boy oh boy is she a rose maniac now. We both just got started with a lot of the teas and english ones this past year and we are constantly sending each other pics...half the time it's the same roses but we don't care! We both luuuv em!

April, if you like white roses, check out Garden Party. It is a HT and has huge white blossoms. I bought a body bag last year and loved the big, long-stemmed flowers. I hope it makes it through the winter. Some of the GPs have pink on the edges, but mine ended up being pure white.

I got Windermere, Enchanted Evening, and Sterling Silver last year also. My Sterling Silver came from Vintage Gardens as the florist strain. It has done reasonably well. Enchanted Evening turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It was blooming regularly. It has a lighter color than many of the lavenders. Windermere took a bit to get going after I transplanted it out of its pot. I think it will be okay. Its flowers are more creamy than white white.

As for Garden Party, I did have it in the past. It used to be a commonly entered rose in rose shows. It is an older AARS winner. It also blooms fairly regularly. It can show some pinking at times.

Terry...GP looks pretty....i'll keep it in mind for sure. The whites just really stand out so much in the garden. I only have a few right now but I want oh so many more. I really love the creamy ones too.

Lesley...that's what rose friends are for isn't it??!! Sooooo which 6 did you end up with?

bustopher...i've heard lots of mixed reviews on Sterling Silver but it's been on my list for a long time so I thought i'd give it a try. I'm trying to buy more of the "unusual" colors now. I'm doing a cream, tan and apricot area now. It is going to take me a while to fill it up but it's fun doing something a little different.

I ordered: Elizabeth Taylor, Enchanted Evening, Sweetness, Cabana, Legends, and Pope John Paul...I have ordered from S & W before and I have always been very pleased. I am excited about each of these roses and thank you for the "heads up". Lesley
