Tree Suggestion--need help

User

hi, i live in new orleans and i'm a complete gardening novice. i have a 50's home with "uptight" landscaping. it's symmetric with three equally spaced mature topiary yew(?) trees lining the front of the house, with a row of small camellia bushes in front of them. i don't mind the topiaries, but i hate it being the focal point of the front yard. i'd like to add a tree up front, which i presently do not have. can anyone suggest an interesting tree, non-deciduous, that has a free-flowing form, like a gnarly asian pine tree(?). am i making any sense? thank you!
