Wanted - monkey puzzle tree

We live in the North West of England (Merseyside) and I have always wanted a puzzle tree but only seem to be able to find ones to buy that are in pots about a foot tall!

Does anybody have one to sell or can tell me where I may be able to find one to buy 6ft ish or open to offers!

My first post - please make allowance for my ignorance. I have an easily-accessible 25 foot monkey puzzle tree, perhaps 30 years old, to offer in SW England. Can anyone advise their experience/success/logistics of transplanting such trees? All advice gratefully received. Thanks.

The most recently posted Long Island street view is from 2012! No proof they are still there after the 2 polar vortex winters. And the other recent winter that was very cold in New England but not as much down here. (2016 IIRC: well below 0F on Martha's Vineyard. Have no idea how LI fared) They often look out of place in typical residential settings but I think those twin Seattle trees suit the house and are well taken care of so I give them a pass! Good catch GG. I am actually wondering if the NW DC, Bethesda, and Baltimore trees survived this horrid summer...by far the most humid I can remember. We barely had any comfortable dewpoints throughout September, not until the last few days. USUALLY cold fronts start pushing in some crisp weather by the 2nd week of Sept. It was a constant steambath since May. And yes it is humid compared to the PNW, but constant dewpoints 70F or above are not normal at least up here. There's a reason you see at least a few old ironclad rhodies in the DC/Baltimore area, but none in the deep south. And other than the late June/early July drought/heatwave - just long enough to be a nuisance - incredible rainy spells, one after another. I'm lucky to have only lost a couple important rhodies to root rot. OTOH it was nice to not worry about watering the 6 or so new planted camellias in my garden. They are so thirsty in the first year!

Bboy - if your reply was in response to my comment above, I was just mentioning that they survived -10F which is a cold winter for my area. We rarely go below -5F. I wasn't calling myself zone 6 because this year or last lined up with the range of average lows for zone 6. I completely understand the averaging of annual extreme minimum temperature readings over many years being the basis for the USDA zone system. I reviewed 60+ years of temperature data from my local weather station (I'll be surprised if the monkey puzzle trees survive long term for me though because I don't see them tolerating 4-6 weeks of temps in the teens and 20's F with overnight lows dipping into the single digits or occasionally below 0F, which is pretty typical for us. They would probably have a much better chance if we hovered in the high 20's to low 30's with less often and less severe dips in temperature. We'll see how they fair!

Your odds transplanting a tree if that size and age, of any age, are about 50-50, and probably not even that good.

This is nothing against you: homeowners are much too picky and impatient when it comes to planting yard trees. They want a tree that comes presized so they dont have to wait the four years for the tree to grow to the size they want. This is very frustrating for me. Smaller transplants have a much better initial success and much fewer long term health issues (SGRs and all that).

Ask yourself, are there any real negatives to starting small? It will be cheaper, and you have a better chance getting a small tree to survive the transplanting shock so you wont waste a couple hundred bucks buying a big tree that will die or a couple thousand teying to move a mature one.
