Bakemom..... - Carrie calling....

for a bit of advice on the Amsonia...

Okay - I have like ten sprouts - Do I plant them close together for an eventual really huge bush - or does one sprout do the trick? In other words, what can I expect from ONE sprout - height, fullness - do you remember how your first sprout did? I don't expect flowers the first year.

Oh thanks - that's what I wanted to hear - the ole "plunk and run" routine - never fails.

thanks, token - that's a great idea about the sea holly.... excited about the amsonia - I have a feeling that they may be hard to transplant too and I want to find a good place for it this spring... I am re-arranging my cottage garden so it is not as dense as it was last year - because of the copperhead I saw last year - and so I am looking for a good spot to keep the amsonia. I wonder if the amsonia can take our full sun here :0/ Carrie

Yesterday, i checked my sea holly and nothing and today they just popped and are doing great - thanks - I will re-sow some more amsonias, i really hope they germinate - can't see any reason why they won't - I am not giving up on them but it's the only sown container with no sprouts.
