A Sad Malva sylvestris Story

I was going about my business checking containers ect. and was wondering why my Malva containers were just sitting there doing nothing since germination (Mar. 20). All this time I'm just blaming the cooler than normal weather and then I thought no way!! Their cousins the Hollyhocks have been germinating around the yard for two months...just as long as the established ones have started new growth! Upon closer inspection I found that all the little radical shoots were laying on top of the soil (((screaming!!)) I never paid attention to that because the cotyledons were green!!! This is one of the containers I still had covered hoping to get more germination going, but apparently they were popping out of the soil alright...literally popping out :((

Guess I'll be re-sowing these tomorrow.

Poor guys! Can't you sift a little dirt over them to cover those embarrassing naked radicals?

I've been wondering if all my M sylvestris from last year died--there's not a bit of life to any of the plants, while my "pink Malva" plants and Hollyhocks woke up weeks ago.

I have plants but I think I'd only have roots to send you at this point. We've already had a few frosts, so they aren't looking real good right now. I know I have seeds, so I can send you some with some of the roots. If you want to trade, what kind of vegetable seeds do you have? It's sad that you have a drought, and we've had so much rain that I didn't have to water one time this year!!!!!

OMG! No phone! That's my connection to the rest of the world! I can stay in touch while I weed,clean or doing laundry. I can't imagine, what happens if there's an emergency? I would be terrified! I did stage_rat and guess what??

I was just out there to grab up the container to re-sow it and when I got in on the counter and took off the cover, guess what was up standing tall?!! I was staring down at the very seedlings I used a tweezer to pick up and re-bury their radicals LOL!! Unbelievable.

Sorry I didn't catch that about your Malva not showing up! I wonder what went wrong? Give it more time though, maybe they are slower showing up?

I sowed Malva sylvestris and it didn't come up, either.
