These are wonderful. It's true that where to plant is one of the biggest winter sow problems. :) I can't wait to follow all your seelings at they grow and bloom. At least they are some I don't have to put in myself.

Those are just amazing! My WS is going to look like that next year!! My lupine isn't even that big, so can't help you there, sorry! Just Amazing!! Shirley

I also did not take pics of my planters. I just WS'ed them in place.

This year I am waiting to plant out. I rushed it last year and some seedlings I lost.
Plus I need to spread sluggo first this year!

Wow. My creeping thyme is nowhere near that nice. I got a few sprouts here and there in each container I sowed. I know I was heavy with the seeds. I was expecting low germination. Did you get yours from cheapseeds too?

Yep, the creeping thyme is from cheapseeds.com. I sowed MANY CT containers.

I also sowed most in some in Dec, most in January and a few in Feb. They were some of my first sprouts.

I felt I did sow a little too many in some containers. I wonder if my cold weather has something to do with it?

Some containers I sowed did not do well where the thyme got rained on too much. I guess the others were better cause I did a bunch of smaller holes.

I plan to sow other varitites of Creeping thyme next year. It is one of my favorites.

My rate is not nearly so good as yours, am hoping some will still sprout of some, don't care too much about some others. I'm not going to bother with pictures at this point, but some are coming along nicely.

I planted looks like 27 Jack in the Pulpit, and only one is up with second set of leaves for a couple weeks or more. No others.

In many of my containers that have something, I'm not sure what the sprouts are supposed to look like, and I suspect some of my sprouts were stuff in the potting soil or got mixed in the seeds.

Some I'm pleased just to get a few if I can bring them through if I settle for that. A few are going like gangbusters.

JIP seeds are hard, round, whitish IIRC and just about the same size as peas or a little smaller. Some I've learned what to look for by their "mates" planted nearby in the smaller things.

Interesting to watch how it progresses. Some that I rather prize, I'm getting a poor-to-none germination rate. Hope some will gradually poke their little heads up. Anyway, happy for you, tremendous success rate esp since we're the same zone.

"Curiosity killed the cat!" Where did you get those loaf size containers that are clear plastic? I've seen the loaf pans in aluminum but they usually don't have clear plastic tops. Did you cut your square holes in top before or after you planted or did you enlarge as you went along? Great pics by the way, is this your first time trying WS? I was heavy handed too but next year, hopefully I'll know better how to gage amounts.

The clear ones are shoe boxes from home depot for 99 cents. The ones with the black bottom are fried chicken containers from Target deli.

The holes I did ahead of time with a dremel on the shoe boxes.
