I have two plants, by accident. The first one is having a hard time surviving in the spot it's in. It has stayed pretty small after 6-7yrs. The second one was a mis-marked rose from the supplier, Certified Roses. It has done a lot better than the original one, but after 3 seasons, it also has remained very small. Neither one has gotten more than 2ft tall. The blooms are beautiful and quite large. The colors are vivid and exciting! But the blooms blow pretty fast; often only lasting a good two days. If you're looking for something in a similar color scheme, I'd go for MIKADO. It's a bigger bush, reaching 4ft high and 3ft wide; and the blooms are gorgeous, full of petals with a nice spiral, and they last waaaay longer than LUSCIOUS.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep looking. I'm actuall looking for something prolific to replace my mini-flora Ingrid, which has gorgeous color, scarlet with gold reverse, but doesn't have enough petals to look good fully open. It looks great at half-open bud stage, which lasts less than a day, then quickly pops fully open into a rather shapeless flower. I'm looking for more petals, and preferably more fragrance. The small bush size is actually my preference, so long as the blooms keep coming. Because I don't have enough space to spread by plants apart. Thanks again.

Mike, I added Luscious this year and I absolutely love the colorful blooms; very striking. The bush has remained on the medium size, but is fighting a bad case of BS because I missed a couple of sprayings (bad rose mama!). But most definitely, this is a rose that must be sprayed for BS on a routine basis.

Excellent bloom form; nice and full and especially the glowing red and yellow blended blooms. The blossoms lasted well for me here in Illinois and we had lots of rain this summer. If I lost this rose, I would most definitely replace it.

Two things on your post;

1. I tried Luscious twice, but it succumbed to the winter both times. Not a problem for you, but that was my experience.

2. I received a short note from Tate's stating that they were not taking retail orders for 2009. At this rate there will be no vendors remaining.

Too bad about Tate's! It seems the growers are having a really tough time of it.
As for Luscious, the above comments make it sound like blackspot will be a problem and that its not particularly prolific.
That means I'm still looking for a red/yellow or orange blend rose, something on the shorter to medium side of bush size. Any comments on these:

Definitely not Camille; I grow her and she's pink, white, and yellow stripes. Beautiful, though, but not if you're looking for red & yellow bi-color.

Have you thought about the new miniflora "Ingrid"? Beautiful red & yellow blooms; very prolific and doesn't get huge. I was fortunate enough to have a have a kind friend give me a plant last Saturday and it is a beauty.

FYI, Regan's Nursery is selling Luscious.

I strongly recommend Gypsy Carnival. It is red with a yellow reverse. It lasts a long time in the vase and is very healthy in my garden. I don't think it's fragrant though.

Thanks. Fragrance is optional but desirable. First I want healthy, reasonably prolific and good flower form and color. Fragrance would be the icing on the cake.
Terryjean, thanks for the hint on Camille. I'm not hell-bent on red-yellow bicolor, but something with an overall orange effect is my goal. "Ingrid" is what I'm actually trying to replace. Beautiful color, just not enough petals nor holding power for my warm climate. Blooms pop open quickly to shapeless things. I've had quite a wait between flushes, too, though that might be because the bush is only a year and a half old. Am I dumping her too quickly? Someone please tell me if the holding power and form improves with more age. It's very pretty at half-open stage; just doesn't last. (sigh)
Hershigirl, I'll have to look up Gypsy Carnival. Thanks for pointing out Regan's. They're expensive, especially with shipping, but a great source for hard for some hard-to-find varieties.
I've been tempted to get a clean specimen of Chicago Peace--love love love the color combo. But the bush may be a little TOO vigorous and spreading for my space considerations. Don't know, hmm.... Only slightly fragrant, too, but so is Remember Me that I listed above. What to do...
