Thanks, Trudi. I actually searched your site first, searching for "grape." I was afraid the green grape would put them off, they might think it wasn't ripe. I'll go through the list the tomorrow,looking for small tomatoes. I love the small yellow ones I got from you last year. Shared the plants with others and they want more this year. I have a few seeds left.

Okay Bev you've got it.

They aren't a grape shaped tomato, but a favorite of my family & friends is sungold-a very sweet little orange fellow. It's a heavy bearer-we kept track one year & got over 500 fruit from one self watering planter. I saved seed last year & can share. This was the first time I saved seed, so I'm not sure if they come true, but I'll gladly share if you're interested. A nice thing about these is that they seem to have less acid than others & are a bit better for digestion. They are also a favorite of my 90-something neighbors. I have to make sure I see each of them seperatly-I gave her a bowl of them one day & her husband never saw them-she ate each & every one while walking back home from my place & he never even knew she had them! Now they each get a bowl!

karen, I was not going to give them plants, but grow the tomatoes for them. However, you have given me an idea. I'll call and see if they would be interested in some plants in five gallon buckets! I'll let you know if I need more seeds, but I think I'll have enough now with those from jesse and gardenweed.

Bev, yeah nice idea. I think that would be nice for the residents to get to pick tomatoes. I love cherry toms right off the vine when they are warm from the sun....yummy!!

5 gal buckets are a good idea they take up little space.

Sungold is a hybrid. The seed won't come true when saved. This hybrid..........knowbody has been able to growout 1 exactly like it's parent. I didn't mean to change the subject, but I don't want you to be disapointed in the outcome if your looking for the exact flavor of Sungolds.

Bev grape tomato seeds are so easy to find, go to grocery store, find your favoirte package and taste them if they taste great then save all the seeds from them. Do the water degelling or Trudis method of scroring powder to get the gell off in a few days you will have all the seeds you want. They have to taste great or I dont bother with those seeds :)

Ehem, cough cough. It reseeded truly in my garden for several years. And I posted about it for several years too. There appears to indeed be some stable strains. When it comes to hybrid tomatoes reseeding truly best advice is always to never say never ;-)

Personally, I am hugely against passing on horticultural dogma--dogma does nothing except prevent people from learning by doing. And if anyone would like to growout Sungold F1 please visit Your Choice Tomato SASE for the details. You can growout the seeds, save them, grow again year after year and as always, save the best of the best to obtain a reseeding pure strain. BTW, this process is called dehybridizing and ultimately you create through selection an OP strain that matches the flavor, size and vigor of the original F1.

I never thought about getting some from the store and using the seeds. Last year was my first year to WS or pretty much grow anything from seed. And I am still learning from everyone. Thanks.

Bev-you have mail! I've heard about them not coming true, so I wouldn't be comfortable trading them as true growing seeds & this is my first time saving the seeds, but if someone else want's to take a chance, I'll share! Like Trudi, I've had strong volunteers, only they were being grown in pots so they didn't reseed in the garden-they grew in my (then) gravel driveway! For half the summer my husband couldn't back up all the way up the driveway to avoid making orange ketchup! Oh, and they tasted just fine! (You didn't think I'd let them go to waste, did you!)
