OK....the Alabama Fall Swap is on OCTOBER 5 at the beautiful Oak Mountain State Park. The Beaver Pavillion has been reserved for the event. Hopefully, someone will post the time.....be there or be square!

Bring SOMETHING to swap! If you don't have plants or divisions or rooted cuttings or seeds, etc......other items are welcome. Pots, potting soil, gardening books, garden fresh produce, and baked goods have always been well recieved.

A meal will be shared by all, so check Catbird 's post about food in order to sign up. Not a cook? There's always a need for ice, beverages, and paper /plastic products.

Bring a small amount of money to reimburse the pavillion rental. Plastic bags, empty pots, plant labels, boxes in order to corral any plants you may end up bringing home will be handy. Lawn chairs might be useful.

Follow Nelson's threads regarding other information. Bring your gardening pals!

I am interested in your Persimmon tree(how many do you have) My son has been at me to get him some for his deer. Also interested in your colored bottles for my bottle tree, and 2 mahonia if you have them.
Check my post on Al. exchange page for some hosta I have to trade. Have plants listed on my plant page also.

I regret I won't see y'all tomorrow, I will miss you. I am not sure I will make it to the Spring 2015 swap. The last few weeks I have been feeling very tired and weak, and other symptoms such as droopy eyelids have shown up. I have been diagnosed as having myasthenia gravis, an incurable disease that leads to weakness of the skeletal muscles. The diagnosis is not 100% sure yet but my doctor is awfully sure I do have it. The thought of a long trip fills me with dread, and standing more than a few minutes is very difficult. I am going to have to cut way, way back on my gardening activities. Thank goodness I still have my succulents!

I moved from one house to another in Pleasant Grove but was unable to move many of my plants and shrubs. First problem was lack of flower beds. I had to put them in. 2nd problem was my shrubs were too established to move so I'm starting over. Which is indeed fun. I may not have many unique plants yet but I make Windchimes and garden Suncatchers so maybe we can trade some garden art for some plants. I'm thrilled to be coming with my Mom again this year and look forward to seeing many of you again! Thanks for your generosity!!
