Miss Huff may produce some berries, but they will not be viable. This hybrid needs to be reproduced by cuttings. Though partially dependant upon growing conditions, but you should expect a spread of (at least) 4 feet.

Looks like a little dark centered feverfew bloom! Does anything fly around when you scrape at it? If you examine some scraped residue on dark paper do you see a dried out shape with legs? The 2 white insect buildups I'm familar with are whitefly and mealybug. But I haven't seen a circular pattern. This is the time of year for whitefly in our zone. If you have a knowledgeable nursery person take them a branch for id. I would cut off affected growth and if it began on newer growth I'd use Bayer all in one product.

Wait a month before you take any action. Both of these plants like it really hot, weather like we are having now but weren't having for the last month. I think that once things heat up both of them will perform just fine. Sometimes Elephants get holes in their ears for no apparent reason. If you don't see a bug eating it, I wouldn't spray it with anything. Bug sprays are pretty specific, so you really need to identify the bug before you spray. The only bug I can imagine it being would be caterpillar like the ones that eat holes in canna leaves. You can just flick them off of the leaf when you find them - no need to spray.

My two cents . . . I have about 12 different lantanas, and only about 5 of them are the "Miss Huff" variety. The others were all supposed to be the "annual" varieties. The oldest ones I have are 3 years old they've come back for me since I've been in this house. I agree with John, that I always wind up buying new ones each year, because I like the immediate color effect. Some of my plants have only 3 leaves on them, so they will take a long time to blossom and bloom. My lantana are in dappled shade in the morning, full sun in the afternoon, and then dappled sun late in the day. They are heavily mulched, at least 3-4 inches of hard wood mulch, and last year I watered them at least 2 times a week. This year, I've hardly had to water at all. Of course, that was before the weather decided to hit 90 plus degrees for days on end. YIKES!!!!! While they may be common, they are fast becoming my favorite plant for their long bloom time, stunning color and mostly for the amazing amount of butterflies that they attract. My kids LOVE to play with the butterflies!!
