I'm whipping up a dinner for 30 of my closest family members, LOL. We're doing the standard Thanksgiving fare plus some non-traditional family favourites. I've (with a surprising amount of help from my children) already made three pumpkin pies, scalloped carrots, sweet potato casserole and the stuffing, plus peeled the potatoes. Assorted family members are bringing rice rolls, perogies, taco salad, a ham, buns and pickles. I'm sure we'll have plenty of food. I love filling my home with my family! Happy Thanksgiving! Carrie

Your pickup truck would hold a lot of plants, nicholsworth. A lot more than a sports car! And with a pickup truck, all you would have to do on warm sunny spring days, is just back it out of the garage and uncover. Then on cold nights, back into the garage it goes! I would love to hear what your husband says about using the pickup truck. I'm a bit nervous about asking my husband about his sports car. He already thinks I am "pot crazy!" Just last week he said---"it seems like you have more and more pots . . . Do you know how many pots you have?" Hmmmm . . . "not really," I said. Well actually I don't know. But I don't want to tell him the number of pots I THINK I HAVE!

Pauline, I didn't know you guys celebrated Thanksgiving now. I hope you and all the other Canadians had a great one. So did you cook bunches of goodies? Judy

A little late with my wishes, but hope all had a great long weekend. I was busy sinking pots in the veggie garden to overwinter (fingers crossed). Back to work tomorrow.

I did my thanksgiving thing on Saturday. Interesting day because my husband and I did the local "Walk to Remember" a fundraiser in memory of stillbirth and infant loss. Then after that we had thanksgiving dinner. We do truly have a lot to be thankful for. As you folks are reaching for your Rolaids, we are already done digesting our turkey. So cheers, as we go pick up a couple pizzas.

Ours was yesterday, Sunday - but still turkeying today.

Triple b, it was probably good for you, yet a very sad feeling to take that walk. It must have been hard to do that, and yet have Thanksgiving on the same day. Though I am sure you have lots and lots to be thankful for.

As we do not live close to our kids and usually do not even celebrate as we choose to garden instead, this year, I decided, I am ready for turkey so invited two sets of good friends. It turned out wonderfully. We had a glass of Champagne, well, you know "bubbly" - not the real McCoy, to begin with. I was pleased with the turkey and all the trimmings. We are all British ex-pats so we had roast potoates with our turkey. Was pleased with the way dinner turned out. For dessert, I offered pumpkin pie and cream or apple pie and custard! (or both). Unlike north Americans, everyone chose the apple pie and custard. Pumkin still in fridge untouched. So we still have that to look forward to. H mm! After dinner I made special coffees, called them Cafe Canadian, just like Irish coffe but with Rye, Canadian whiskey!

Turkey is such good value. Separated it all and had another turkey dinner tonight, the rest is in the freezer for caserolls etc. and made the soup stock. I must sound patheic, but it is a number of years since I have done this. We spend Christmasses at our daughter's on the mainland.

I am glad I got the attention of a couple of Cannucks anyway, but I know there are more of you out there. Missing Niecey lately - not seen her around, also Carol, really been thinking about her, she posted so much, then I know she was having a big move from Edmonton to Calgary. That is the last I heard. If you are looking Carol. I do hope all is well and you are settling down nicely.
