I assumed that bellamama was planning to plant them. You are planning to, right? In general, hardening disorders include: * Yellowing: Exposed to bright sun too quickly * Purple: Exposed to too much cold, too soon * Limp: Hurting from one of several factors (too cold, too leggy, too much rain, too much wind, etc) Brassicas can survive just fine being a lot leggier than that. You can have them be so leggy that they're pretty much growing along the ground, but if you get them light, and they don't die within a few days of doing so, they'll recover and you'll end up with a slightly L-shaped brassica ;) No need to panic; your plants should be fine. Give them no more than a half day of direct sunlight for now and increase it to a full day perhaps Monday-ish. Just keep an eye on them; if they get any yellower than that, cut back on the sunlight. You could try growing them in pots this size, but I'd expect their growth to be stunted. It'd be better if they were in larger pots or the ground.

Yellowing of the foliage is often the result of soil that does not drain. Container soil should be composed of course material with large enough particle size that allows water to drain through and out the drain holes in the container. If the root zone remains saturated, oxygen will be excluded preventing the roots from taking up water and the nutrients dissolved in the water. I appreciate all the ideas, guys! I'll do some diagnostics on the failing plants. Some are so far gone that they'll have to come out, so slicing open the stems should be a quick check for verticillium. I'll also put the leaves under a glass and look for thrips (though a "white paper" test revealed nothing). Meanwhile, I've got a few extra containers and plenty of Al's Mix, so I'll stop off at the local big box and pick up a few bell plants. If I throw a few in containers and a few back in the raised beds (unless the peppers show signs of verticillium, in which case I just have to keep them out of that soil), and mix up the water/fert, I can experiment and see which ones do better. Getting back to the original impetus for this post; going out of town and leaving your peppers in someone elses care. Uggg, kuvaszlvr, I should have gone with your plan B and taken the four trays with me. Turned out the GF's daughter (who really would have taken good care of them) had other stuff come up and couldn't take care of them. I ended up leaving my babies in the care of a neighbor.
