Talk me out of ordering Fortuniana?

So I'm desperate & thinking of doing something that's probably a no-no. There are a couple of roses that I REALLY want and cannot get unless I order them on fortuniana. I know where that rootstock is supposed to be used, and it's not Central IL.

Question---on K&M's website, it says that if you bury the graft you risk losing fortuniana to own-root. That would actually be my GOAL if I ordered from them. I of course would not have these delivered or plant these until after last frost risk next spring.

How far off the deep end is this idea? And on a sidebar, how long have others noticed that it takes a buried graft to go own-root? I think my Blue Girl has done that in her 3rd year.
